vandenBerg's ankle?

Featured Replies

Goodwin has said he should be right for next week. I'm very hopeful he hasn't re-done the ankle he had surgery on late in 2015, because we need him for Round 1!

Was at the game. Saw him come off and do a single run up and down the line. He was able run, but not without discomfort. He spent the rest of the match on the bench icing his ankle.

I think he'll be ok.

Might be better just giving him the week. Can always play a half at Casey the next week.

Glad to hear they think it's not too bad.

Was happy to see him icing it and walking around, even if gingerly, rather than in the dreaded boot

Not serious. Was able to walk on it later on. Got the feeling they put him on cotton wool for the rest of the game.

"should be right for next week" = career ender

obvioudly joking. Desperately hoping he is good for round 1, as I think he is a big player for us. I would have him in my top 10.

Someone told me Garland played on with a bad ankle as Dunn had hurt his groin & hardly played. I heard Simon mention Dunn but not Col. Can anyone confirm or deny for me? Cheers

I noticed that he copped a knock on his ankle in the 3rd and was limping for a bit. Didn't look as bad as vanders.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
