i'm surprised wyl lowered himself to actually read the hun (and even admitted it), given his antipathy towards it

And to start up a thread on it. Sheesh. Must have surpassed boiling point. Don't get in his way next time Melbourne isn't mentioned.....or quietly ridiculed. This should cost him his knighthood. Royals frown on such pedantic behaviour.

The Hun is known as the Collingwood Football Club Gazette throughout the industry ( also the liberal party herald - but that's another story).

Collingwood has the biggest membership and mention of Collingwood sells papers.

Even if Collingwood languished at the bottom of the ladder the Hun would treat them with reverence. It sells papers!

And with the utmost respect to Demon supporter who read the Hun, I'm reasonably sure most supporters would rely upon other sources for their news, thus the relative paucity of MFC column centermeters in that paper.

I had a friend who was a newsagent in Collingwood in the 50's, if Collingwood lost he would not sell a paper from Saturday night untill the new team for the week was published on Friday morning. He said a Pies loss would cost him a fortune.

    UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft.     Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock for the final week of training for the 1st to 4th Years until they are joined by the rest of the senior squad for Preseason Training Camp in Mansfield next week.
