Very compelling game tonight.  Would be a massive upset if Queensland get up.

Shame they don’t have a more non-NRL fan friendly commentary option.  I’m clueless with most penalty and 6 again calls.

Epic battle tonight!

Nearly all of the players played the full 80 minutes too ... they must be exhausted

Credit to QLD.  Well deserved victory

Didn't watch it but heard Darren Lockyer say this morning it was one of the all time great Origin games. True?

It was a great match both in terms of immense skill and physicality

And I don't believe anyone watching needed to be a fan of rugby league to enjoy the match.  Just an epic contest

It's such a great spectacle the Origin. Would love to be able to go to a game sometime in either NSW or QLD and see what the atmosphere is like first hand.

Well worth watching a replay, layz

As a general rule I'm not a replay person (there's too much live sport around!) but I'd watch the Origin replay

Good match-up on 9GemHD tonight

Eels (6th) vs Broncos (5th) ... at the new Commbank Stadium in Parramatta

Winner could be clear 4th if Storm lose.

More importantly what's going on with the Storm 3 losses in a row more than likely a 4th against the Rabbitohs.

Yeah whats with that? Maybe they're loading..

  • 1 month later...

Eels all over the Broncos here - looking good

A lot to play for with 4th spot at play for the Eels whilst the Broncos can slip out of the 8 with a loss

  • 4 weeks later...

Eels through to a prelim after demolishing Canberra ... Cowboys next!

Cowboys/Eels tonight & Panthers/Rabbitohs tomorrow night

Couple of classic prelims coming up

Would like to see an Eels/Bunnies GF but hopefully we get 2 close PF's

Go Parra!! Feeling pretty good about the boys' chances.

All West Sydney final (Parra v Penrith) is a great chance.

That's a great win by the Eels

Fabulous game too!

Still can't believe we won. Very much need to tidy up for next week.

Tonights game just as good so far.

Yes, excellent game

Penrith could have scored another 12 or so but it's level

And that's how it's turned out by the looks of it

I'm assuming there's a decent rivalry but have they clashed in big finals before?

Think so but Parra have not won a GF since the 80's.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

  • POSTGAME: Western Bulldogs

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
