No idea mate sorry. I pretty much only watch state of origin and the GF.

With no footy on this weekend I'll be tuning into the last round of league.  Some vital games on show with finals spots at stake.

Starts tonight on 'Gem' (or foxtel) ... Broncos @ Cowboys (7.30pm)  Nth Queensland need to win to secure a finals spot.

Parra back in the finals after 8 years. Have a punchers chance this week against the Storm, but if not then can meet them again in the Grand Final via the Roosters/Broncos path.

State of Origin II on tonight ... I suppose NSW can wrap up the series but who knows?  These encounters are hard to predict so I'll go for a Qld victory just to keep the series alive.

An ideal lead into the World Cup straight after.

Go Blues!!!

Been a good match ... 2nd ever penalty try in Origin history but it was definitely there.

Good win by the storm proving their dynasty isn't over yet. You have to give it to Belamy it doesn't matter who retires or gets injured he replaces them with quality like Hughes.

Go the mighty Storm didn't play their best missed a few tackles but were still able to win and make it 4 in a row. I wish the Dees could be as consistent as the Storm.

Great game tonight came from 20 points down only to go down in golden point. Stupid it is team with the first crack at golden point will usually win like the Roosters did.

Easily the 2 top teams in the comp if we can have a grand final like that it will be a ripper.

Wow how consistent are the Storm? 2 games clear on top. They never play a bad game totally opposite to the Dees. Hope they keep it up.

  • 4 weeks later...

Congrats to Cam Smith on his 400th and more importantly a win. 3 games clear on top WOW what a great team.

Congrats to the storm for winning the minor premiership. Papenhauzen to no 1 has been a great move. Keep it up storm the premiership is for us to lose.

  • 2 weeks later...

How on earth did we lose that? Stuff you Ado-Carr you have cost us a flag.

Fair win and performance by the Eels yesterday. Not sure we will beat the Storm but who knows.

Well done Storm done it easy. Ado-Carr made up for his stuff up against the Raiders. Now for the big test against the Roosters the winner of this will win the flag. GO STORM

Disappointing end to the season considering we dominated it. Never should have lost to the Raiders, that cost us a grand final spot but we would lose to the Roosters anyway they are too good. Losing Vunivalu didn't help.

This is my first post on this forum!

I am a Melbourne fan, obviously, but also a Roosters fanatic from Sydney. While winning back to back premierships was amazing, unfortunately the Demons' season was one to forget - almost the complete opposite.

Anyway, I wish them every success in 2020. I hope to get to the round 2 clash next season. When will tickets go on sale for that?

Go the Deez, and I look forward to interacting with my fellow Demons supporters!

The Storm are unbeatable 2 and nil again with the Roosters losing 2 in a row and the Rabbitohs losing we have to be favorites for the flag. GO STORM!

Another win to the Storm not convincing but a win none the less. Need to improve good to see Vunivalu and Kamikamica back.

Manly are all over the Roosters here.  Certainly have come to play

That was one of the best Origin games I've witnessed.  Munster & Cherry-Evans were immense and Billy Slater gets a win on the board in his first outing as head coach of the Maroons (in Sydney)

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front.  They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season. Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table. The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hope that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
