The tall defender spent most of the season at Casey before receiving a surprise call up to play against Fremantle in Perth and did not disappoint.

Let's hope that he becomes a regular in our backline with another pre-season behind him!

Really didn't warrant his two AFL games, but long term it should be a good thing for him.

He now knows the level he needs to get to and where he is currently at, so presumably he will start next year at Casey and work on closing that gap. Hopefully can be a long term key defender for us.

While Oscar certainly hadn't knocked the door down for senior selection, his form at Casey had been pretty solid.

With Dunn and Garland both in the latter part of their careers, Oscar's development is important to hold down the key defensive posts with his brother and Frost.

Who cares if he had 'earned' those games? He showed enough in them to justify his selection.

Every club debuts youngsters in dead rubber games to end the season whether they are banging the door or not.

This kid will be a very good player.

Unsurprisingly for an 18 year old key defender, needs to spend the pre-season locked in the gym. Promising start though.

I expect the more physically ready Frost to play ahead of him 2016, allowing him to quietly chip away at his weaknesses as Casey. How it should be with all under-developed players ideally.

Didn't look lost, and he showed some poise. Like his brother, he might be handy for us.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
