Someone has posted the full ABC Replay from 1987, Western Oval v Footscray

Supermercado did a write up of that variety concert on Demonblog, bloody hilarious if you've got 15 minutes to kill reading it.

Weird as hell and oh so cringeworthy

What was the point of it? Fund raiser?

just the best day i have ever had at the footy

The fact the AFL got rid of Victorian home grounds for the privately owned Etihad makes me very angry...

Same here SWYL, i still get goose bumps watching the replay

Thanks Demonland, I always loved 'C'mon Demons'. When they belted it out before a game at the 'G' it really got the heart pumping. Back then of course, we all believed that the next Premiership Cup was just around the corner. Not quite the same emotions watching that clip after all the barren years we have endured. Just lots of nostalgia, mixed with sadness for those champions who are no longer with us.

Laughable comparison of Deledio and Flower in the Age by Gleeson.

The only similarity is that both played football.

Thought the exact same thing myself Biffen, rediculous comparison

Laughable comparison of Deledio and Flower in the Age by Gleeson.

The only similarity is that both played football.

closer comparison is Flower to Fyfe... although different players there are enormous similarities in tight situations.

Fyfe way more an inside players but similar in the air.

Flower as good under pressure of multiple opponents closing in.

Flower run & carry superior.

Disposal = Flower.

Courage = both

Strength - Fyfe

in short; its great to finally see another who has the same passion, dedication & love for the game; & focus under pressure.

  • CASEY: Richmond

    The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
    Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

    It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
