Demonlanders are an interesting lot. There will always be a group that maintain that we should have picked Natanui (9th in the West Coast B&F for 2014) rather than Watts (10th in the Demons B&F for 2014). Similarly there are those that say we should have picked Wines (a Jack Viney clone) rather than Toumpas (an elite outside playmaker). When Roos gets us cranked up both these players will play valuable outside roles, particularly know that we have Brayshaw and Petracca coming on stream in the midfield. Have faith in Roos!

Basically agree with the above. It is easy in retrospect but it would be hard to believe that we would pass over Wines given what we know about him now. The kid is a gun.

Ok it's been 11 days since the last training session and I'm having withdrawal symptoms.

Going to the Test was a good distraction, but the traffic has really slowed down on DL and there's nothing in the papers.

Anyone know how to deal with training withdrawal? (And I'm not talking about a thread arguing semantics over Brayshaw's efforts on Xmas day.)

The jury is still out with me on Kent, this is a really important year coming up for him. He will need to step up as a mid as I don't think he will make it as just a forward, Petracca will have him covered and Garlett is a much better crumbing forward.

Kent is backup at best for mine.

Where does Watts fit? I thought he would be ahead of Fitzy, Gawn and Pedo for a spot in the front 6.

For mine, our best forward half would be:

Petracca Hogan. Gartlett

Gawn. Dawes. Howe

Watts should be on the wing. Brayshaw in the midfield. Immeasurably better front half than this year.

That's a big call. As a small forward in a horrible team he went at pretty much a goal a game this year, which if he hadn't of been injured all pre season and been ready to play more games sadly would of won our goal kicking. He has good pace, a quality left boot and most importantly know how to snag an opportunistic goal. Building a tank to go into the middle, has the solid build already. I'm leaning the other way, I think he could move into top 5-10 in the bnf next year.

Switch Garlett and Howe and that is very exciting.

Garlett has the speed and the instinct to operate close to goal and anticipate the fall of the ball at contests further out.

We don't want Howe getting in the way by using Hogan as a step ladder too often.

But what a pleasant speculation after a season so devoid of scoring possibilities.
