I take it that Tapscott is the 23rd man and heading to Darwin as he hasn't been named in the Casey side. Could be a late change coming.

MFC play on the same day as Casey, so I'd say it's just being prudent and taking one of the emergencies along rather than any sign of a late change.

I noticed a twitter on MFC website (I don't own a twitter thing whatever they are) that Georgiou is doing fan sessions in Darwin. So one less at Casey?

Yarra Park closed all day tomorrow for car parking aparently. Tigers playing Lions at MCG 1:45. Punt Rd traffic might get busy around the time of the main game.

The undermanned Scorpions are struggling with their usual array of miskicks and mistakes. Halfway through the first quarter, Richmond leads 2.3.15 to 0.2.2. Max King off with an ankle injury.

Very nice goal by Pickles running around the boundary.

Nicho is playing for Casey today.

Another goal to Richmond. The problem for Casey is that their VFL aligned players are simply not up to it.

How are the MFC boys going KC?

Jesse Hogan in the stands with Spencer. Cross also looking on today. Might ask Hoges to shout me lunch.

It's hard to believe that both teams are on three wins but Casey is playing without much cohesion and spirit. Young Ed Morris goals late in the term and he is a ray of hope for this team.

Tigers are taller than us at both ends of the ground but its not getting down our end much. Most of the play is in the tigers half. MFC boys all getting a few touches but noone is a standout to me. JKH is a lot quieter than last week. Clisby Blease Strauss Michie Evans Nicho Riley all had a little of the play but usually it's one possession followed by a turnover. There are not enough guys making themselves good targets to pass to. Fitzy battling it out in the ruck but he's our only tall and getting pushed off the ball.

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.
