Glen Bartlett the new MFC President? (It would seem not yet)

Featured Replies

He didn't mention that in his speech on Saturday........which he surely would have, were it a fact. Unless he just assumed that we knew, him being a FH.

I wonder if he's any relation to 60's player , Maurie Bartlett. There is a slight resemblance . I guess he would have mentioned that, too, if it was a fact. He didn't.

I can't remember many board members ever mentioning who they support!

This article describes him as a passionate demon. It also suggests he has been identified and in discussions with the club about joining the board for some time.

A caller to SEN just brought up the following as somebody who has been asked to consider the presidency and as per the caller is considering it however lives 6 months in Oz, 6 months OS.

I just dont see how having someone who specialises in being secretive and out of the limelight does a lot for Melbourne. We need an Eddie everywhere type thats on the front foot and in the faces of people whos faces he needs to be in..

Sounds like a brilliant bloke, but not for the MFC presidency. Maybe as consultant to our money people

I just sent him an email...lets get behind him people and show your support

Everyone is sick of your pissing contests and arguing semantics to create the illusion that you weren't wrong.

So you're the site's new spokesperson ?

Stick to being irrelevant.

Whenever I think of Jay Clark reports I think of Anchorman and Sex Panther "60% of the time, it works everytime".

I'm not cool with this.

Stick to being irrelevant.

Like clock work and yet a variation of 'don't waste my time'.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
