As I said before - enough of this.

Hey Nutbean - if you were rich and had a decent package, even if you were mute, you would expect to do better than Jacqui wouldn't you?

Ah - just got it it - Soidee started this.

Soidee is the Mighty Demon who is going to watch the top sides play for the rest of this year - had enough of the Demons. Great attitude I don't think!!

We should consider ourselves fortunate that we're not under 30 and unemployed, and those who are have every right to be outraged.

6 months without receiving a cent. 6 months on no income. Following that when they eventually do qualify, a required 40 job applications per month whilst working 25 hours per week for the dole.

Draconian measures like this won't just impact individuals. Businesses are going to be inundated with an expected 1 million applications per day, thanks to the self announced king of cutting red tape, and businesses have responded in kind by slamming the policy. The broader societal impacts will be almost certain significant rises in crime and homelessness.

Policy on the run like this would be laughable if it wasn't so serious. It just seems like no thought whatsoever has gone into it.

One can only hope that they will actually LISTEN to the feedback on the exposure draft, but I don't hold high hopes.

I think you could call it class warfare! Purely vindictive legislation based on zero data by Bastards Incorporated. The work for the dole has some merit but the 40 applications a month is ridiculous and the six month wait for funds is just kicking young people while they are down.

Don't you understand P-Man? It's called 'real action'! Or something like that....

I will give the Tories something. I thought they were still in John Howard's shameless weathervane mode of 2004-2007 and would throw cash at every constituency they could to shore up their votes. Instead, they have stuck by their principles and ideology and have put forth a budget that reflects those principles and ideology.

Sadly, those principles and ideologies just don't reflect reality or aren't close to workable. As Bob Menzies said, 'the best part of being an ideologue is that it relieves one of the responsibility of thinking for oneself.' (that's version of the quote)

I read something the other day in one of the papers that said people should just pick their 40 favourite members of the Liberal party and send them their resume each month.

apparently is Dim-Sim, is good.

I think she came out too early? fired off all her shots before the war had even been contemplated.

I wonder what she makes out of Gaza atmo?

Did anyone else watching tonight's ABC News notice how our PM's coiffure is styled to copy a film star from The Lord of the Rings ?

I am not a LOR officianado but I have noticed Tony's comb over is becoming obvious; If that is what you mean?

they also did the makeover on him in the office scenes, wearing glasses more often, trying to make him appear intelligent, & to seem more distinguished. a bit like they smoothed over little johnny in makeovers.

now that you've mentioned it, they'll try to hide it. Don't you think its amazing how our suggestions on here, seem to take place at Liberal HQ @ federal level ??? their faceless spies are everywhere. now where did those false eyebrows go ?

The word is Tony is considering changing the national anthem to this.

P.S. A lot of the images in this are a bit dated. They really need a coalition government 2013-present version. However, the stuff that is sung about is still pretty relevant today.

I listened to "The Hack" last night on triple J and they had Christopher Pyne on. He is jumpy obnoxious fellow.

He ranted about Fairfax and the ABC and gave Tom Tilly a spray - Tom handled it quite well.

It did make me laugh - it was 5:59 and Pyne was about to launch into an answer and Tom said can you make it brief as we coming up to the news. Pyne got agitated and said typical ABC - i get asked a question and you wont let me a....

Before he could finish they went to the news. Tilly apologised after the news and said - we cant stop 6pm happening nor the news coming on. Pyne came off as a petulant DH.

You think he would know that Triple J listeners are not his demographic so he would keep his cool to win people over - not act like a 2 year old.

Got my notification today from my energy supplier that my electricity will cost approx 7.2% less with a refund dated back to 1/7/14. Thank you Tony and your Govt for repealing the unwarranted carbon price.

You can argue the merits of the carbon price all you like.

You can also argue the merits of the average punter that cares little about anything else except their own hip pocket.

( had you said that it is a benefit with the tax coming off for businesses and the economy or the general populace - then cudo's, but arguing policy because its more money for me ..hmmm)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
