Who are our best six in 2013, in 2015, in 2017?

Since this is unknowable, let's just pick from the current players, and therefore we will pick the ones who will develop fastest

2013

1 Clark

2 Jones

3. Frawley

4. Trengove

5 Grimes

6. Howe

2015

1. Watts

2. Clark

3. Toumpas

4. Gawn

5. Hogan

6. Jones

2017

1. Watts

2. Hogan

3 Gawn

4 Toumpas

5 Viney

6. Clark

Are the 2017 top six capable all of being in the afl top 20, and therefore form the basis of a premiership side?

Really?

So many posters are living out their hopeful fantasies about JW. Alas, wake up.

If Jack Watts is our best player in three years time we will be in real trouble.

Probably the more relevant question is if those top six players would be in the best 100 players in the game.

4 of your last 6 have zero or close to zero exposure to the AFL.

You just can't predict these things on such a lack of evidence.

Jones, Clark, Grimes, Frawley, McDonald, and Jamar are our best 6 players, obviously in my opinion, and only two of those players are mids and one of them has only been there a year and has constant calls for him to return to defence.

We need to get some more mids in there. When Toumpas, Viney, Kent, Blease, Howe, Trengove, can get their bodies to a point where they can be in the top 6 - we will be a much better team.

Why is that? If he gains the confidence to go in hard there is no reason why he couldn't improve to the point where he could be our best in 3 years time... after all, he will still only be 24 y.o.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
