We need a memo leak, IF Schwab loses his job at the MFC, he is a hot favourite for the Tigs job.

Dont let the truth get in the way of a good lead

Then wait for the BANG!! The offices of the rage with go into meltdown by our friendly female reporter in there.

Cameron wasn't CEO - he was Head of Footy Ops.

That went through to the keeper.

Wilson hates Schwab, she would burn the joint down rather than have him anywhere near the place.

Will always be known for taking Luke Molan at pick 9 in the superdraft ahead of 50 other blokes that had decent careers.

The Cale Morton one is just as bad...

He wasn't all bad.

Pick 12 of the 2006 draft was a masterstroke.

I note this from our website about our footy recruiting department

"You won't hear Taylor taking the credit though. The decision is, he says, a reflection on the approach of the recruiting team now at Melbourne and the confidence they have in the football department's ability to develop talent.

The beefed-up recruiting team now includes Taylor, Gary Burleigh, Tim Lamb and Darren Farrugia, with Kelly O'Donnell as pro scout, Tim Harrington as general manager of list development and Todd Viney supporting and guiding the decision making process. The group also reports to a list management committee."

Craig Cameron did all their jobs when he was at Melbourne. There was no list management committee.

Statistically only one club had a worse recruiting record than Melbourne since 2000.

Do you know the set-up at other clubs while Craig was in charge here ? I know Richmond's was no better. They recruited JON as a top 10 pick purely by hearsay and watching his video tapes.

The money spent on recruiting has drastically changed in recent times. It may not have been unusual in the AFL for clubs to have the type of set-up that Craig experienced. But I'm not certain of the benchmarks and you could well be right in that he was at a severe disadvantage when compared to most.

I wondered the same thing Ben. It's all well and good to plead that Craig was under-resourced at the time, and relative to the resourcing we're seeing now there's no doubt he was. But if his resourcing was comparable to other clubs at the time then his performance need to be scaled accordingly. Like you though, I have no idea how our resourcing compared to other clubs at the time (and I don't just mean the "rich" clubs, I mean all the clubs).

I don't know the answer but it would have been hard to have less resources.

He was a paradox in a way. He was very ordinary with early picks but got a lot of good ones late. In the first RD he recruited Robbo, Junior, Nathan Bassett, Ward and Bishop. He picked up Woey, Rigoni,;Nathan Brown, Whelan, Bruce, Jolly and Jamar with late picks.

But he failed terribly with his early picks and that killed us. It's ironic that close to his best, Scotty Thompson, didn't get on with the coach and is/was exactly what we need.

Probably, but I'd also be surprised if he had less than the Dogs, North, or Richmond for starters.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
