Deevoted, another forum i frequent (a history one) often have quizzes

The winning poster gets to pose the next quiz

If he declines the originator offers a new one

adds a bit of variety

just a thought if you get stumped coming up with new ones

Thats not a bad idea. I cant see myself doing this every week. I'm not sure about the longivity of it once the players get into full training and then the season starts. But so far, it seems that its been well received. As I said earlier, it was trial and error, with getting the 1st clue just right.

I an open for suggestions and ideas, if it means keeeping it going. I started it, that doesnt mean I wouldnt share the concept.

So far it seems popular enough.

Update :

I will post a new "Who Am I" a bit after midday Wed.

Just to re-enforce the rules:

One guess. One Post per clue: (it just gives others a chance to post their guess)

There are 4 clues for each player. (if needed)

This one has gone cryptic. The answer is in there,if you study it hard enough.

HINT: The player is not a ruckmen or tall. Eliminate all players before 1985,thats doesnt mean this player started in 1985. I'm just narrowing down the era a bit. This might seperate the men from the boys.

Reminder - One guess/post per clue. (read the opening post if in doubt) Good luck.

Weather's magnificent and now that Redleg's turned up we're concentrating on sorting out the experimenting inquiry.

Enjoyed watching the cup from someone's apartment overlooking the beach.

Winning trainer a former Demon and James McDonald rode the second placegetter. I knew we did the right thing by letting him go!

I did 4 days in Broadbeach over the cup - they get right into the cup up here. Sat for two hours at a cafe drinking fabulous coffee and watching horrifically dressed women off to parties balanced on feet torturing 9" heels - it was amusing if not a little grotesque.

May I suggest you go back a little Deevoted, we had a few hundred Demons play between 1897 and 1950 - that may pull a few up short.

Thanks to all those that have been offering encouargement , positive suggestions etc much appreciated.

And to the posters that have been having a crack. I have taken it all onboard, but still unsure if I can keep doing it for much longer.

In case some are unware of the concept. I would suggest reading my opening post.

All the clues / quizzes prior to this post have been guessed correctly. They are done and dusted.

A brand new quizz will follow this post. have fun with it, and good luck.

The Demon stalwart surpassed the number of his father's appearances for the club towards the end of the season. As he approaches his thirties, his pace is inevitably slowing, and he is likely to explore alternative opportunities beyond the team's midfield.

“Disco” took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.
