Optimists only - let's dream

The Reverend

Recommended Posts

Good for you Cawf.....I am a pesimist by nature.........but I love this thread....

I am too Bossdog but only where the MFC is concerned.

But without the Reverend I think it would difficult to come on Demonland some days.

Go Dees we are going to win both games tomorrow.

I have no idea how

But if the Rev is confident so am I

Being a optimist I can see T.Mac being a all australian this year. A couple of scalps (Both Riewoldt's) and he is sure to be considered. Unlike the midfield which is stacked full of A grade players the backline hasn't as many.

Hey old dee, it's going to be a great year.

We will win both games and we'll go on to win many more.

The AFL (Abject Failures Limited) and the [censored] running it will be shown up at some stage this year for the fools they are.

The tide of public opinion will turn our way and we will be seen as hardworking underdogs who deserve the respect of the football world.

Oh it's going to be a glorious year.

Go DEES!

Toumpas will be a star. Forgive me for the massive generalization, but we have often previously recruited blokes who lack a winners arrogance. Ie Cale Morton.

This bloke screams out 'winner'. Hogans the same. Sometimes it just goes beyond draft camps. It's for this reason, I'm also wrapped to have Viney.

Is now a good time to bring this thread back?

I would expect there will be all sorts of hopes and dreams bubbling around out there. Let's share them here, free of the negative Nellies.

I'm dreaming of Queen's Birthday 2014. 90,000 in attendance 45,000 of them in red and blue. What a magnificent sight to see. Imagine being able to wear the scarf with pride as we head out of the G with the song ringing in our ears.

It's going to be a Grand Old Flag once more!

GO DEES!

I was just wondering where you were Reverend.

Even I share you enthusiasm today mate.

Can I go to the grave knowing we are competitive once again?

Absolutely OD, but nobody's going anywhere until we win a flag.

Paul Roos will be talking to his mate, GOD, and making sure that there will be no loyal supporters taken until the flag flies over the G again.

Praise the Lord - we are being led from the desert to the promised land.

GO DEES!

So I have another ten years Reverend?

Only if you want to see the next five premierships! Would three in a row put a spring in your step and shake off the infirmities? Bloody hell, one would give me another ten years, I reckon. Three in a row would see me almost immortal.

GO DEES!

Big Mitch

Tom Mac

Finally getting games into a few youngsters who've had serious injuries.

Young leaders (I seem to be in the minority on this but the sheer lack of leadership in recent years is being addressed by a new, young group. It'll take time, but they'll be there when it matters).

Fitzy, Big Max, Hoges and the star studded forward line.

While we are at it, why don't we get moloney back and right the wrong with Ollie Wines

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
