It's a shame he can't continue his development, but he's definitely not in our current best 22, and that's saying something.

I don't agree with that.

He's borderline best 22, notwithstanding his still developing frame.

With a bit more physical development he will be firmly entrenched.

yeah im gutted about this injury - Gysberts is a point of difference in an otherwise very similar group of midfielders IMO

Same with Jetta

I don't think there is such a thing as best 22

there might be say best 16 then a dozen players vying for the next 6

Glad no one gives a stuff about this...let the MFCSS continue...

People care a great deal. It is old news and was discussed in another thread.

Has had some very, very good games in his first two years. Earned two rising star noms, says a bit. A bigger frame and a bigger tank, as well as an uninterrupted stretch of games, and he'll become a vital part of our engine room.

Worst part about this injury is he'll be off his legs... kinda adds up to even more time out regaining fitness cos he cant run.

Sorry mate. Must have missed it amongst the 1 billion 'crisis' threads....

According to "the coach," on the weekend, there was a best four. The rest sucked.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
