I wonder if Garry Lyon has found some passion to turn this club around after a day like today.

I would be surprised if he did not. No one who bleeds for the club could possibly feel like standing back after this. That said, this is not the time for the club to implode.

Another true blue supporter. Just like the Tiger 'supporters'. See you later alligator!

Well what do you expect?? We buy our memberships and put up with the crap that comes with supporting melbourne through thick and thin. This is a breaking point for me a heap of over paid blokes running around pretending to care. FFS a bit of pride in the jumper and accountability wouldnt go astray!!!! Seeya Bailey your gone and lets get someone in who is hard on the players and doesnt mollie coddle them. A bloody disgrace today .

On that performance Col Sylivia is well worth the 500k a year he's asking for pffft...

Dean, be a man, pull the pin. Please. T Viney interim. ASAP.

What I'm interested in will be the leadership our Football Manager provides. Great gig C Connolly has. No one knows what he does other than spruiking fund raising events #StepUpUsedCarSalesman

Please please please Melbourne.... make this loss count. It has to mean something, it has to be the start of something. I have never been more hurt. I won't stop supporting, but I never want to lose hope!!!

I truly believe we have the talent in our playing group, but the coaching staff is completely out of their depth. Conditioning is awful, inept tactically !! we are in such a wretched state I just can't express how truly dreadful we were and how depressed I am about it

We have had the pick of the crop for years and they can't develop them. Get someone who can!

Am in total meltdown. Want to drink myself into oblivion and burn my membership and jumper. Haven't been this close to crying about the footy since I was a little kid. Heartbroken and soul destroyed.

Was that a smile on Greens face while talking about how bad we were today????

Didn't see it, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least. Did you see his showing On the Couch? He was like a giggling schoolgirl.

I'd take any club's predicament over ours right now, bar maybe Port. Maybe.

Just got back home. Absolutely gutted and still in disbelief with the performance. You know it is bad when you have work associates who you don't know very well sending text messages to rub it in.

Even Gold Coast, a first year club has not been flogged as bad as this yet. That speaks volumes of where we are at!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
