Game Day

Featured Replies

Does anyone know why the game is live on Channel 7?

because you don't live in melbourne?

Kids aren't having a great day. Watts, Trengove, Tapscott... getting nothing out of em

I actually live in Melbourne and I am getting the game live as we speak on 7.

Its delayed .

From 16:18 on the clock in the first quarter, we've actually won this game.

No not on my T.V, it is halftime, I am watching through my foxtel box so maybe they have routed the live feed to the foxtel box by accident.

Same here it's live

How can you live with yourself stealing from the AFL and Murdoch?

You said it all. These players must fire in the second half. Add Gys to that list. They are trying hard, but must have more of an influence. Everyone looks tired.

If bate and dunn are in our top 5 we have plenty of improvement in us.

Some of the unsung names having an impact. Bate doing things. It's big names that aren't doing much. Beamer and Green touching it heaps but not having much of an impact. Frawley getting pantsed.

Strange. They're definitely having a dip.

Dunn also doing lots. Heaps of improvement left in us on the day though. Frawley could turn it around. I'd like to see Garland go to him, maybe to free up some of that Frawley rebound.

Watts needs to take a grab. Sylvia needs to earn us a first rounder. ;)

JACK WATTS! This interview, I assume at half time... with Leigh Matthews!?!? How did I not know about this?

Jack looks like a blonde Ron Jeremy!!!!

A few of the quiet players getting a bit of pill now. Still need Trenners to turn up... as Zaharakis showed against the Crows, a quiet first half doesn't mean you'll remain quiet for the whole game.

Good way to get Watts into the game, playing down back. Taken two good defensive contested marks in a minute.

only that sort of crap can happen to us ....F%%^%$#

Sylvia makes WEIRD basic mistakes way too often... like the time he tripped himself earlier in the year, now that shocking kick.

tappy thru a dork to ground back of play and gives free then martin gives 50 ball was in our pocket they kick goal

plenty it would seem

How many turnovers can we make in one game!!!???

Pressure makes turn overs This could have been a lot worse, the kids are learning.

We have just crucified ourselves right out of this game......but at least the lads are trying

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
