anyone else making the trip to Darwin

So jealous!

I had planned to go, but thankfully I didn't book anything because as it turns out I started a new job this week. At least the game is live on Ch.10.

Best of luck with the new chapter in your life- a change in jobs.

Oh god are we on ten. I can almost here the whining on their amateur commentary team already. The best bit may well be the Auskick segment.

Yes! I am heading up. My first time seeing the boys play inter-state and my first time to Darwin.

Really looking forward to it.

I can't make it this year, but a few fellow M9er's are heading up.

You'll have a ball - oyster shots at The Tap on Mitchell, Darwin Trailer Yacht Club pre-game, a club post-match function at The Pint (walking distance from TIO), and Mindle Beach market on Sunday evening (post sunset).

there are a couple of functions on at Darwin,

Friday night $90 ( we are all going)

Saturday night $250

All details on MFC site.

Not this year but had a ball last year. Thought about it a couple of days ago but airfares were anything but cheap by then and need to be home on Monday.

The old man & I will be there.

What is the Saturday night $250 function? Can only see the Pint Club listed at the MFC site.

I went up with a group of 5 last year, and had a fantastic time, though I've never been so hot at the footy. It was a great atmosphere there, and Demon colours everywhere!

We stayed at the same place as the Demon players, and I remember seeing Brad Miller heading back to his room(no Pia) at about 2am. I congratulated him on his 5 goals, and he looked pretty pleased with himself!

One point worth remembering, is that it would be very hard to get a cab back to Darwin straight after the game. We went by taxi, and offered the driver $50(extra, between all of us), if he'd meet us at a particular pickup point.

After the game we saw lots of people desperately trying to hail cabs(including ours!)

wish i was going... was up there working a few years ago and went the dogs dockers game. From memory plenty of buses running back and forth from the city. Awesome weather night footy in board shorts with a cold one!

Yeh me +1 heading up. Never been to Darwin so it should be goood!

Don't forget your UF tips- my friend and foe.

Yeah, me and a couple of other mates going again. Went last year and had the time of our lives - a great place to go, even if you haven't been there before!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Brisbane

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

Melbourne wrapped up the AFLW home and away season with a hard-fought 14-point win over Geelong at Kardinia Park. The result secured second place on the ladder with a 9–3 record and a home qualifying final against the Brisbane Lions next week.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Geelong

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
