There is no doubt that I have over the last two years been slowly disengaging from the MFC

I no long have any expectation of winning, I went to less games in 2013 than 2012 I have been to one game this year and will not go until round 6 as I have other engagements and an interstate game this week.

I do not get angry with losses any longer.

This morning I turned on the computer and there were two emails from the MFC, as I was deleting them it occurred to me a seldom read emails from the MFC any more.

The human brains ability to block out painful things is a wonderful thing.

I suspect that if this year continues to follow the trend of the last two I will have stopped the hurt completely in six months time.

Gee we will have to begin "operation turn OD around".

You need another hobby to distract you from the likely train wreck of the 2014 season

Or eat more banana's

OD the MFC was so bad it will take years to recover. Personally I believe there is nothing else that can be done until the team can substantially be replaced.

Can there be too many?

It appears he been drinking Red.

Very sad news. Jockey Nathan Berry dies of virus caught while in Singapore. Condolences to his family and friends.

The news is saying he was epileptic, but sad he passed away

Gee we will have to begin "operation turn OD around".

I am confident that the only remedy is winning games.

start winning in 2015 and my attention will return.

right now I am in the dwindling phrase.

Sad but probably over due.

I totally agree. Most of this team is well below AFL standard. We looked like a joke team against WC. It was totally embarrassing. This is beyond lack of development or psychological problems. It's simple lack of ability. Grimes can't kick and when he does it's straight to the opposition. Watts has some natural ability but is too much of a public schoolboy and not enough of a mongrel. Jones has little ability, makes dumb decisions, thinks he's big enough to break packs and constantly ends up on the bottom of packs. At least he is a great trier. The rest of them need to go and be replaced by some big, strong , aggressive men who enjoy the game and play to win.

But how can the MFC win when its best players sit on the bench with long term or reoccurring injuries

The team needs a rebuild of a rebuild etc...

So lets not talk footy as its too upsetting

How are the bananas going?

An extremely good question DF the only answer I can give is It cannot.

The only way forward is the replacement of at least a dozen players IMO. Also add Clark and Dawes who are not physical up to AFL level stress.

That is going to take another two draft periods.

I hate to say this but last years draft selections are going have to take up more of the slack in 2015 than they should or the last two years results will continue.

However things are looking up I am having a banana and peanut butter sandwich for lunch.

Off to an amos game tomorrow.

Good weekend ahead I expect.

Dawes and Clark must be dropped at the end of this season.

It is effectively happening at the start of the season DF

Cannot get on the park has the same effect on results

gellibrand.{nuff nuff capitol of the district}

also the choofa capitol of the district.

but they have the best steak sanga you will ever get at the footy.

big crowd expected,probably 250-300

That should not be that hard DF

Anyone who can actually play 100 minutes week in week out will give better value at probably half the cost.

Have a great day mate

Try and keep on topic or start your own wine appreciation thread on the general board Bitty. Actually, that's not such a bad idea. Anyway, you're a very naughty boy. Bad, very bad.

Thank you.

Pretty sure we already have a massive wines thread.

Have a great day mate

catch up with a few that i hit,and some that returned the favour.

talk about how great we were and hang chit on the modern day players.

After a round of golf at Apollo Bay last year, dropped off to the Hawks? Ground and watched them play against Otway Districts. Interesting battle, hawks home in a canter.

Gillette would do ok down there as a sponsor....fair to say manscaping is definitely not in their repertoire.

Entertaining slog in the pig pen in the middle.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
