We were at The Cavern Club which is directly over the road from Liverpool's original Cavern Club where the Beatles rose to fame in the 1960s. It's a dingy underground club area with an atmosphere pungent with beer smells and literally hundreds of mad fans going off their heads over the songs sung by a Beatles cover band that sounds remarkably like the original which I saw at Festival Hall on 15 June 1964. Let's not forget what happened a little more than three months after that. Quote
