No, not yet. They are early stages in their development. I would expect they will play in a number of positions just like nearly every bloke who has come through the VFL to AFL.

And could you please use caps, commas and tidy up your grammar FFS. I promised I'd never rip someone on this but it does my head in. Are you Wayne Brittain??

grammar i can understand sometimes, but caps and commas? sheeesh!

OK we'll make it easier to undertsand. Cook & Fitz will neeed to develop their games before either can hold down a key position and that's not going to be this year by which time Fev will be gone.

If you don't think there is something for a young forward to learn from playing with Fev you haven't been paying attention.

Agreed. Put em either side of the Fev and tell em to "Watch and learn".

As long as they're only learning what the Fev's doin ON the field and not off it!

Have to agree to disagree, I think havin Fev there will only stunt there growth and exposure to the big boys

I just think being the main target and getting the ball kicked to you more often will help than sitting next to Fev and learning

Would love a report on the other Dees playing

If we didn't have anyone else to kick goals I'd say there might be some merit in getting Fev in order to give Casey some structure and make it easier for our developing forwards, but we're going to have guys like Newton, Martin, Petterd, Bate, Dunn and even Spencer up forward in addition to Howe, Cook, Fitz, etc.

As a side issue and I'm not sure if this has been picked up before or commented on, but on the Casey list is one Ryan Pendlebury. Yes, he is the brother of Scott. A mate of mine met him by chance a few days back and it turns out the Pendlebury's were (are??) Dees supporters.

If Ryan can turn out to be half as good as his brother, I trust the MFC keep a close eye on him.

Bio data as follows:

Height: 189cmWeight: 85kg

DOB: 02/08/92

Club: Gippsland Power (Vic)

Bio: A strong midfielder who is the brother of Collingwood's Scott Pendlebury. Has great skills and showed them off while running around with TAC Cup Gippsland Power in 2010.

In his own words

What type of player are you?

I can win my own ball, play as a big or a small and I have a good left-foot kick.

Which AFL player do you feel you resemble and why?

Scott Pendlebury, my brother. I'm the same sort of player and I watch him every week and base my game around what he does.

What are your strengths as a footballer?

Good kick, good decision maker, clean hands, good vision and awareness.

What parts of your game would you like to improve?

To become more consistent and turn my bad games into average games. I also want to improve my kicking on my opposite foot.

And after seeing Fevola's efforts in the easy win over Frankston, I would have thought there is also alot not to learn from Fevola on the ground.

KC flew north after the game on Sunday to meet up with his family. His report should be up some time during the day today.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
