DRAFTIN' TIME!

Featured Replies

Dees either atley or lynch hopefully!

Anyone want to bet against Gaff going at 4?

Nope.

9 GC. Dion Prestia.

Interesting.

Apparently Prestia scored the highest out of any junior in a E20 test, which is scored out of 120- 60 football ability, 40 mental smarts, 20 something else... Prestia recieved a score of 120, Watts got 100...

Richmond. Reece Conca, lets see how that one goes

Well he's a Melbourne supporter so he got an easy 40 for mental smarts. Not really a level playing field is it?

Still thinking we're going with Jack Darling. Just a feeling I've got. Lets see how far off the mark I am.

Atley or Lynch!

Or a random Gysberts-like smokey.

Do we dare the darling dream? Go for it MFC....

Very interesting... the rest of the pics are pretty much decided, so here we go!

Couple of key forwards available, and some decent sounding midfielders..

We got enough Jacks, time for some more Toms.

Gosh. Swallow goes 1. Who'd have thought?

I almost choked on my popcorn, how, left field..

Now this show gets interesting.... who's going at 11??

Lucas Cook is ours

E25.... You barstard!! You sold me a Jacobs dream!!!

Lucas Cook is a 194cm and 82kg AFL- AIS Graduate, who is an extremely agile key forward prospect with a strong lead and the ability to take contested pack marks. He additionally is a good reader of the ball when it is in the air, has a strong overhead mark and is also very good when the ball on the ground.

In Vic Country’s first game in the Under 18 Championships Cook kicked 5 goals (including 3 in three minutes) and also took 5 contested marks and collected 20 disposals. In early July, Cook was a part of Vic Country’s first national Under 18 championship win in seven years and impressed AFL recruiters so much he was named in the Under 18 All-Australian Team.

In 2008 and 2009 Cook played for the North Ballarat Rebels in the TAC Cup and played in 20 matches and kicked a total of 19 goals.

Cook is currently into his third season with North Ballarat and after 7 matches has scored 18.5 (an average of 3 goals per game) from 29 marks.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
