Do we get this London game on Yahoo tonight? Guess we will find out.

Hungover as can be but might watch the first quarter if it's on.

Late again!

Pitsburgh, Dallas, and Atlanta

So Detroit have two drives for two TD's in the 1st quarter and look like giving the vikes a heavy loss. They then do absolutely nothing. By the end of the 1st quarter the lions had 160 total yards. Halfway through the 4th they had gained 5 yards in nearly 3 quarters. Vikes put up 22 in answered points and win. Any fantasy players should check rookie WR Stefon Diggs. He is putting up big numbers for a 5th round draft pick.

A few observations ...

  • There are 5 teams with a 6 & 0 record (Cinci, Packers, Pats, Panthers & Broncos)
  • The AFC South is currently 8 & 19
  • Dallas will need to win a game soon, otherwise ...
  • The Vikes & Rams are definite wild-card threats
  • Detroit have gone backwards
  • The Jets might be a wild-card chance as well
  • The NFC East remains the hardest division to pick
  • The Saints might get on a roll - next 4 ... vs Giants, vs Titans, @ Washington, @ Houston
  • Has the League figured out Andrew Luck?
  • Is Cam Newton a top 10 QB right now?
  • The Raiders might be half decent
  • We need to stop picking the Bills in road games

Week 8 games (2 points on offer this week)

Weeks 10, 13, 15 & 17 are also bonus weeks with week 17 worth 3 points. So ... there's still time for those outside of the top 4 to catch up. Once again, here's the points tally ...

I'll add to your summary Macca y agreeing with you especially about the bills.

On the Rams, Foles and receivers need to clock better. Thank god for Gurley and Donald... Two young stars!!

This week isn't any easier to find 3 road winners either (see post #3405 above) ... but at least there's a few big match-ups we can look forward to watching ... Packers @ Denver (SNF) & Indianapolis @ Carolina (MNF) probably being the pick of the games.

Friday's game could be interesting though and the Seattle @ Dallas (Early) & Giants @ Saints (Late on 7mate) games holds real interest. The 49ers @ Rams is the early game on 7mate.

We've got another London game as well (Lions @ KC) Big numbers viewed last week's live stream on yahoo.

Probably the best line-up of games for the season so far ... certainly better than the last few weeks.

Has anyone seen that [censored] Greg Hardy lately? I can't stand this bloke. He basically beat up his girlfriend and threatened her with guns gets convicted but it's over turned when she suddenly goes missing and can't testify. He goes to Dallas and his first chat with the media he says he will come out guns blazing. Now he is acting like a diva at Dallas and I was hoping Dez Bryant was going to knock him out on the sidelines. Jerry Jones seems to get off on picking up some players with a questionable past but I reckon this bloke is too far gone. I hope Brian Urlacher comes out of retirement and plays on the offensive side and buries him.

Haven't seen that CFH.

That's pretty bloody poor.

Good that we have Tuesday off and the MNF game looks a decent one.

Pity I can't IQ 7mste... Actually I'm not sure I'd have reception even if I could... Ha ha

I was tempted to go GB, more tempted to choose the Jets. Have a feeling they will have a road win this week.

What a crap game yesterday was. Pats dominated them. Tannerhill looked like a deer in headlights half the night.

Cards, Seattle, Packers

Looks like Haynes time at the 49ers could be over.. Being waived this morning. Guessing he'll end up on the practice squad or maybe someone else will give him a go

Edited by JV7

With Hayne gone I'm hoping the radio stations don't give out the NFL scores, got to try and avoid it until,I get home and can watch the red zone.

Annoying. I should be given Monday, Tuesday and Friday off to watch NFL... Stupid work.

Gorg.... Don't bother, has to be one of the worst first halves you will see.

Spoiler alert.....

The 49sight have re-signed Hayne during the first qtr, Bush injured again.

We have a new leader in the tipping comp ... Gorgoroth was lucky enough to pick up 2 points whilst most of the rest were put out of the running for points by the Packers.

The curse of winning this comp is at work again too - previous winners have bombed out the following year and this year seems no different. At a guess I reckon 10 or 11 points will win and there's about 14 points left on offer.

-Rodgers 77 yards! Would be his lowest for a long time I'd think!

-Absolute shoot out in New Orleans..101 total points scored, like a college game

-Lions woes continued in London

-San Fran's offense continues to struggle to put points on the board

-Carr continues to impress as an up and coming QB

-Have a feeling the colts may break the Panthers winning streak tomorrow

-And as for the Falcons they are starting to turn back to old habits, 4 turnovers inside Bucs territory is unforgivable, thrown the game away... Starting to doubt some of Kyle Shannhans play calling as well...

Watched the game and Denver were just far too good - in all areas.

Their D was what stood out though - Elway, Peyton and that crew are getting it done with a terrific overall game.

The overall numbers for the Packers were abysmal ... Denver probably should have won by a lot more. Rodgers running for 31 yards was about the only positive (if that can be classed as a positive)

Still, it's only one loss and I'm sure the team will bounce back ... I've said it before but I believe that Rodgers is the type of QB who needs to play every week. He gets out of whack after a bye or a week off. The Vikes keep winning too and they're now 3 & 0 within the NFC North.

As for the Falcons, I didn't see the game but that's a costly loss with the Panthers playing so well - if Carolina win tomorrow they might prove difficult to peg back. After tomorrow they next host the Packers in an early Sunday game.

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?

After a disappointing loss in Alice Springs the Demons return to the MCG to take on the Magpies in the annual King's Birthday Big Freeze for MND game. Who comes in and who goes out?

After kicking the first goal of the match the Demons were always playing catch up against the Saints in Alice Spring and could never make the most of their inside 50 entries to wrestle back the lead.
