The detroit win sticks out for me. Luck got a whole lot of yards and TD's but their defense couldnt help them out. Thought chicago wouldve been a bit better or are houston with a new QB a tad underrated?

Yep as has been said missed FG's are a big factor aswell as the extra point. My boy blair walsh missed a few by a long way today. Gotta get him back indoors.

I tipped the Lions. Indy have some bad injuries and suspensions, so I thought Stafford could make plenty of plays. They tried to lose it with the missed extra point at the end but got the job done. I don't think either of those teams will be good, but I like the Lions more because they were bad last year and got better, where as Indy are a mess outside of Luck.

It seems the Bears were good for a half, but against a decent Houston defense the offense just ground to a halt. They double teamed Jeffery and with no Forte or Bennett there's no one else to make a play. The defense dug in for a half but with a weak secondary they can't get too creative and get after the QB. The Texans rookie WR Fuller was great and scorched the Bears. And if the Bears can't run the ball this year they won't win many games. If they do establish the run then they have enough in other places to test teams

Wentz is the other big story along with Jameis Winston ... both looked impressive.

Yeah he was good from the 1st qrt on. He was all at sea in the first qrt, although the Falcons didnt record a sack he was hurried & hit a lot. Once he took the best the Falcons pass rush had he made some huge plays. His going to be a good QB for a long time

Im on the sack the coach bandwagon already. Sorry gorgoroth im sure you are already on board. The rams have shown glimpses of what they can and they did so when their division was the best in the nfl. Their offense is a mess and i remember the game against the vikes last year where every play was a screen pass or run. I know its week 1 but a fresh start in LA with a new qb and coach wouldve been exciting.

From what I saw today their offense was absolutely shocking... 185 total yards on offense & 20% 3rd down conversion, all padded by some late plays when the game was gone. Considering Keenam first drive was okay, it leaves a lot of poor play between first & last drive.

Your right CFH, they should have started afresh in LA with a new QB & coach. The whole thing just has a bad stigma to it from the past, a fresh start would have given them a new look. How are you supposed to win fans over with a performance like that ? Whats even more scary is the 49ers are coming off a poor season and weren't tipped to scale any great heights this year. Goff should start from here on even if he isn't 100% ready, the fans need some sort of hope.

My summary of the Rams.

Penalties as bad as ever.

Oline - pathetic

D - very average

Gurley - was killed by a great dline and terrible calls.

Still no wide recievers.

Keenum is a terrible QB.

Offence - lets throw a horizontal... well that didnt work... what should we try next... I know!! A horizontal!

Fucken [censored]!

Fisher should have been fired two years ago but some how this [censored] still has a fucken job!

Sack the offence coaches too.

The only thing Fisher did in the off season was rape our secondary and make it worse.

Fuckk me I hate Fisher!

I've been on the sack Fisher band wagon for years.  We always relied on special teams and D to acore our points or get us in range.

Fisher is a [censored] of thehighest order, I shall re name him Neeld.

Such is the nature of things, I probably won't be picking the Seahawks next week - they are at the Rams

Anyway, the Steelers looked great ... Big Ben, Williams & Brown went lights out with some big numbers.  And they've still got Bell to come back - they're very strong at RB and Ben is A class.  Pittsburgh are going to be hard to beat if they can stay relatively healthy.

Points tally in the comp

1 - JV7,  Gorgoroth,  cowboy_from_hell,  DeeSpencer

0 - The usual bunch

2 points up for grabs this week .., weeks 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 & 15 are all also worth 2 points whilst week 17 is worth 3 points.

That's a lot of two point weeks.

Was it usually that many?

Steelers look good. Big Ben is a force if he can stay healthy.

Dont worry Macca, Seattle will kill us this week. We have 5 away games in our first 7 weeks, one is in  (London).

Yeah I ended up making the bonus weeks the odd numbered weeks from week 5 ... it gives a chance for people to catch up or even join in later on.  It's 1 extra bonus week over last year although it does seem more than that.

I reckon that settles the make up of the comp for now.

The Rams record within the division has been very good in recent years and they do bounce back just when you least expect it - I've a feeling you might win against Seattle but I'm not a great tipster

Brockers re-signs for 3 years which is good, but I read that Fisher was also meant to have been given another 3 years and it was meant to be announced the same time...

I might need to give up on the Rams for 3 years...

He truly knows some dodgy stuff anoit the owner and GM.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
