Sack fisher...

I hate this game...

Broncos v pats was great.

If the Packers miss the playoffs then McCarthy will come under pressure ... was it 8 coaches who got the boot all on the same day last year or 2 years ago?

Regardless, the NFL is all about winning and if a team doesn't win enough, the coach usually goes. The Americans like to "change things up" as a bit of a rule of thumb anyway.

There's loads of offensive and defensive coaches as well as college coaches to choose from and it's not as if these coaches aren't remunerated exceptionally well anyway. These sacked coaches can sometimes get a 2nd chance too - not sure how frequent but the ratio is miles ahead of a sport like the AFL.

Would McCarthy? I mean surely his record and the injuries this year give him a period of grace, it's not like this is 11 years of not having a winning season let alone making the play offs.

Fisher is into his fourth season and we have not improved really.

Our D is amazing but you can see how tired they look and the injuries they are getting due to the time they are on the field vs the offence. I'd love to see how many minutes each have been on the field. Especially the last five weeks.

I think it's time to sack fisher. There are a few coaches ready to go. Jim Scwartz the ex lions coach has a great defensive mind, doug marrone who walked out on the buffalo job and all the coordinators out there who should get a chance will be in line for a gig. Rams are too talented to be wasting opportunities right now. I've only seen one Rams game this year but the offense was so predictable and non effective it looked like a first time madden player.

As a vikings fan I would love to see Green Bay over react and sack everyone. Start at the QB position, then the head coach. Those two never lose to us.

McCarthy is just an average coach who divides opinion amongst Packer fans ... his play calling during the NFC Championship game last season was poor ... settling for 3 pointers on the road was costly in the long run.

If we miss the playoffs his position will come under threat ... at a guess I reckon he'd survive but he'd be on notice.

Your blokes just continue to rack up the wins cfh - kudos.

Every team gets injuries Gorgo and our's haven't been that bad ... we haven't covered well enough for the loss of Nelson and that's on the coaching staff in my opinion. It's as if they're using the loss of Nelson as an excuse. If Rodgers was out - different story.

We have high expectations at Green Bay and losing 4 of 5 with a multiple MVP winning QB is just unacceptable.

Yeah the St Louis newspaper is giving him heaps about his terrible offence. Four years, something has got to give.

We will lose good defensive players soon and then we will be proper fooked!

Unbelievable finish to MNF!

Yet at the same time totally believable. It's the Browns.

Pre game I think it was Steve Young saying the Browns can't be influence by the past and have to make decisions based on what really is right but I feel for them because they just can't seem to win no matter what they do. Not even the other perennially bad teams in the NFL compete with their level of misery.

So with their history you'd say they needed to win every game they can, build confidence in their coach and build a winning feeling. But the other side of that is they need a top draft pick and to get one right for once and they need to decide if Manziel (or even Davis) is the long term QB. Plus they need to find the right coach and the right GM. I think they have the right coach but not the right GM.

I'm really glad no poor bugger on here follows the Demons and Browns.

Ha ha, I know that feeling.

Davis looked good tho.

Great game, really hoped they would win it too.

Just had a look at the schedule and hadn't noticed that the Packers & Detroit play tomorrow ... well, at least the pain or the glory will be out of the way quickly

These Thursday night games come up quickly and for this week at least, there's a lot riding on this game ... Bears & Viking fans barracking for the Lions? You betcha!

Detroit are starting to play really well and who knows with the Packers? .. not confident.

I was reading about coaches under the pump and when they got to Fisher they said he is safe...

what? In 21 years he has had 5 winning seasons... None in his four with the Rams, Kelly who has done well at the Eagles other than this year is under more heat, even saying Payton at NO is under the pump.

what dirty secrets does fisher hold???

Some sports people (including coaches) seem to always get a pass mark or are untouchable whilst others are seemingly always under the pump. And there doesn't seem to be sound reasoning as to why.

Packers & Rodgers... Wow

Only had radio and I'd given up on the win on quite a few occasions during the game (especially after the 1st quarter and then at half time)

First of all pass interference might have been called in that last frantic minute and then that dubious face mask call when time had run out ... then the hail-mary.

A freak win and we were awfully lucky - but sometimes the best team loses and we've all been on the end of that type of misfortune before ... the Packers saved their season in unbelievable circumstances and the Lions lost a game they should never have lost (and they are done for the year to boot - well, you'd reckon they're done!)

Green Bay @ Detroit highlights

Oh. My. God!

i had given up on the packers, then that slight face ask, but it was there, but that throw to Rodgers and what a catch, all it needed was quarters calling him a star!

I think the play before was a good no call.

Been some good games the last few weeks. I'm looking forward to the cards and the vikes next Thursday. Should be a ripper.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
