I thought the Steelers might be ok without Ben for 4 weeks, but vs Ravens, at Chargers, vs Cardinals at Chiefs is absolutely brutal.

Then when he gets back it's SeaHawks, Colts and Denver (plus Oakland) and Divisional games to finish the year.

They'll need to win at least 1 if not 2 of the 4 (if it is 4 weeks) to keep on pace.

I keep waiting for your boys to take the next step. There is too much talent in St.louis to be losing those type of games at home. I think Fisher is on his way out but then you will beat Arizona or Seattle again and all is forgiven.

We are at Arizona this week the. Have GB the week after so we will prob be 1-4.

Our D holds us in the game, special teams score 1/4 of our points pretty much. Our O line is young, but not doing well yet so the running lanes are not there.

Fantasy news. My team sucks.

Yeah. You did. Thanks. lol

Ha ha, seriously tho, how good does Rogers and GB look! Thought Nelson might have hurt them a bit but damn, they have just changed their game and not missed a beat!

Just a reminder that it's not too late to join in on the tipping comp ...

Week 4 games

Week 4 for is for 1 point only but we have a bonus week coming up in week 5 (2 points) ... other bonus weeks are weeks 8, 10, 13, 15 & 17

Also, this week the Jets are the designated "away" team even though their game against Miami is being played in London. Previously we've allowed the designated away team (in London) to be allowed in your tips so unless anyone has any objections, we'll continue to allow it.

My tips ...

Panthers

Packers

Eagles

Any public holiday where I get to see an NFL game live is fine by me.

These Ravens/Steelers match-ups are always good games too - they hate each other and it's a huge rivalry. The Ravens are lucky that Big Ben is out but Vick is still quite capable on his day.

Ravens in a close one.

I'm taping it, I'm out this morning, hope to be home by midday and start watching then, but I feel the wife will have us fixing things on the property so I'll prob watch this arvo.

Yep, the Steelers had a number of chances to at least pick up field goals but they either missed them or as we saw towards the end of the game, not even attempt one of those field goal opportunities.

The game itself was close as usual but lacked the ferocity of previous encounters.

Agree, seemed a lot less aggressive as normal.

Flacco doesn't look sharp and a 1-3 record probably shows that.

I only saw the last quarter and OT but neither side looked like they wanted to win... Not sure why the steelers didn't go for the FG on that 4th & 1, yes it would have been a 51 yd attempt after their kicker had missed a couple previous but they had to go for it!

Good win by the Ravens, even if it was against a Roethlisberger-less Steelers.

My tips for this week are Packers, Panthers and Raiders.

I have a feeling all sorts of records are going to be broken in GB-SF, and not in a good way for the 49ers...

Bloody raiders!

I hate them! Never should have picked them. Bah!

Good win by the Rams, held the cards offence to 5 fg's before they got a TD. Our O line actually played well. Gee I saw why Gurley was rated so highly.

Now to see if Fisher can finally, finally get us to win outside our division. We are off to play the packers away... Eeeek.

Back from a short break with no phone reception so I missed the tips but I would've failed anyway. Vikes lost a close one at Denver but they played very well. Denver's pass rush is scary good but Peyton has dropped off a bit.

A lot of close finishes in today's games ... 7 games decided by less than a TD (most within a field goal) Redzone couldn't keep up in the early games - still great viewing though.

Many of the games carried a fair impact too ...

  • Biggest losers were the Eagles, Raiders, KC & probably Dallas
  • Biggest winners were Atlanta, Carolina, Denver & Cincinnati again whilst the Giants, Jets, Redskins, Chargers & the Rams all had important wins.

Seattle should win comfortably tomorrow so a Lions win really would surprise.

No points won this week in the tipping comp ...

SeaHawks got away with one today. Can't believe the refs either didn't know the rule or didn't review that. Had to do one or the other.

The Hawks defense still looks amazing but without Lynch at least the O line doesn't do enough to help Wilson or the run game. For the life of me I can't work out the Jimmy Graham trade.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
