Demise of a true hero

Oh sorry I have got it now, so if Tom Scully or Jack Trengove don't progress to everyone's satsifaction in the next couple of years and we don't win a flag......then it will be Jordan McMahon's fault and we will have somebody to blame

Huh?

I don't follow that at all.

could someone go out for a truck load of humour !!

deliver to these forums.... must be a leak somewhere as so many angry faces

I reckon J McM ought to get MFC life membership for outstanding contribution to our beloved club's cause.

Ah yes... can here the moans and derision already...Such scandalous heresy etc etc etc

that truck here yet ?

Although a few posters are trying to shout down.....the point I am trying to make, yes it is the preseason, yes there isn't much news, but this is a thread about a Richmond player on something that happened two seasons ago........we have so much to look forward to, yes he may have made a contribution to our future.....but who bloody cares!!!!!!!

I bloody care!!!!!!

We have so much to look forward to you say? Why is that? Tom McNamara?

No, it might be Dustin Martins

Give it a rest satyricon. Mark Webber says hi to you and hopes your enjoying life in your little PC world. Geez, you don't like any honesty about MFC players do you?

Your/our club did what they had to. Done.

This is a thread about a player that retired. It is amplified because he kicked a bloody goal after the siren to win a game of football. A great feat in itself (especially from him) but the fact that one kick had such a ripple effect on a few clubs (his own included) is the reason it is the talking point it is.

A butterfly flaps its wings ......................

The fact that he basically marked after the siren just makes it all the more beautiful. Hats off Jordie, we'll miss you.

Personally i think our drafting and trading forum should honour the man until Sir Tom retires.

We did the right thing - I'll thank him if we win a flag.

Already bought him a beer last year. I suggest all mfc supporters do the same thing when they see the great man.

HaHaHa! What did he say when you told him?? A sad Forlorn look of "Oh no not that again?" B)

I think many here underestimate Jordan's ability as a footballer. In his early days at the Bulldogs he was a difficult player to beat and often ran the lines to good effect. It was only when he changed clubs and went to Richmond that he turned to slops and that matchwinning goal last year was uncharacteristic of his time in the yellow and black. It's unlikely he would have done it if they'd kept Terry Wallet as their coach.

More lately he gave the Tigers' revival a massive boost by maintaining his consistently average form at Coburg therefore enabling their selectors to resist the temptation to promote him to AFL level.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
