Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Random thought of the day:

If we win, Western Bulldogs beat St kilda, Carlton beat Collingwood and Brisbane beat Sydney, then we'll still be out of the 8 despite us being 4-2.

it would be a different story if the Dees could have held that game against Collingwood. All I can say is the boys have set the bench mark in that game and so far have delivered, there was a a half against the Crows where I was nervous.

For structure alone I like Martin in the side.

Bail will get more opportunities.

i'm not so sure, i'll probably get shot down with howls from the pro-Martin camp on here at demonland, and please don't take this a player bash, but i personally think he still looks like a basketballer trying to play football. Not quite in the right places at the right time - reactive rather than proactive. He doesn't seem a natural footballer and that to me is not something that can get taught, i see more value in footballers who can read the play and be where the ball is going to be.

I've loved that part of Bail's arsenal in the first 4 games. If i was coaching i would have put him straight back in and unfortunately i think Martin would be the one to make way.... and yes he'd be very stiff to miss. Thats just my thoughts thats all. We'll beat the 'roos regardless (fingers crossed, toes crossed....)

Martin just needs a few more games... I agree with Bail, he has impressed.

Just wait until the really hard decisions are required when the boys that have yet to play this year are pushing for a position. ;)

What's REALLY weird about the log-jam is that we were ninth at the end of round 4, won a game... an stayed on 9th... then somehow mathematically we're still a chance to stay in ninth despite winning two games!!

Luckily the Bulldogs took care of us and were kind enough to lie down against the Saints.

Well, actually you are 100% correct. He is definitely a b`baller trying to play footy. You are also right that he seems to be in the wrong places at times, he is, and he will learn this in time. Natanui still has very little idea of where to run, he`s all over the place some matches. We just have to persevere with Marto for a while, Jamar has to have some support, and I thought Stef was reasonable in the ruck last week and I also saw a few good signs around the ground. We must get more games into him.

Totally agree on Bail as well, I am a big fan already and he is desperately unlucky not be in the 22 and I hope he gets back in within the next 2 weeks.

Have heard from my good mate working at Casey that Rivers will infact be playing today for the Dees. Not sure who he is in for though.

Interesting.

That is interesting if true! I am wondering if Ricky is not 100% with the shoulder??I doubt Riv would play forward though, maybe some may get there wish and see Garland forward??

What a refreshing and intelligent post.

Please post more often.

I agree Jako.

I loved his first season but after watching him a little more closely of late (think he played a couple of pre season games?) and last year I've started to worry that I'll always look at his games and think "gee, he's good for a basketballer."

Still plenty of time, and a good chance, to prove me wrong however.

Yeah I wasn't quite sure who he'd come in for. I was thinking Martin?

But with Norths rucking setup I think this would be unlikely. Maybe the MFC footy department know something about the North emergencies?

Martin should not be dropped.

If the rumour is true, and Rivers is in, it will be for an injured player, which puts Petterd at the top of the list.

But of course this is as yet just a rumour. In 10 minutes we will know for sure.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
