Hard to beleive stuff like this is being writen just 4 weeks after the smacking the media gave us just 4 weeks ago.

We are on the right road, with still a long way to Travel-But this time the beast is tuned up with a full tank of Petrol. B)

Keep Aiming to the top Demons. Win some away games to compliment the Hard work we do at home.

That is a lovely piece!!!! I don't suppose Carro Wilson wrote it..haha..fat chance

It's all a conspiracy to make our players comfortable with themselves. They want us to get ahead of ourselves. As long as we recognise that effort is what got us to where we are, and that even greater effort will get us to where we want to be, then there should be no cause for us to go backwards. But we've all seen teams before who have bought the press and forgotten the effort required to play high-level footy - footy that we've seen is good enough to knock over even the best teams.

Thanks for reminding me to put the Journo in I forgot that, ooops. Jake Niall.

Niall was on SEN earlier this arvo pumping us up even more. He made the point that Bailey had been prepared to make tough calls from day 1, using the TJ trade as an example.

He was very enthusiastic about MFC - you'd almost think he was on our staff.

Pretty sure the same bloke's given us a couple of whacks in the recent past

Good to hear that he is genuinely enthused about us - many in the football media seem to enjoy ridiculing us. Could've done without the reference to 'Silver Spoons' in the headline though (perhaps not Niall's fault) or the reference to MCC members calling the G the 'cricket ground' (Niall's fault). I have been an MCC member for 16 years and have never heard it referred to as 'the cricket ground'.

I wonder what the club can do to shake off this image of its supporters as wealthy, fickle skiers. I reckon it would be worth sending a few uni students to the slopes in July-August with clipboards to conduct surveys - my money would be on Hawthorn supporters as the real range-rover driving skiers. The club could then refer to the survey results anytime the usual brainless slurs come up.

This doesnt mention the players at all though! If it was about how good Colin Sylvia looks pumping them through from 50 2-4 times a game, or our twin tower defenders in warnock and frawley, or our potential all australian ruckman Jamar, fair enough, but this is about the heirachy, the off-field guys, and how a bit of stability off-field can translate to a bit more success onfield

I'm not talking about this article specifically,b ut rather the increase in positive media surrounding the club.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
