THE TRADING CHRONICLES 2009

Steve Lavell: The Brendan Fevola deal is done. He's heading to the Lions. Lachlan Henderson and pick No.12 to Carlton for Fevola and pick 27.

Hey, how did you know this before the rest of the media found out? :)

This is a stupiid suggestion. Why would we do this when we could have got Fevola, We have delisted Robertson, Wheatley & Whelan due to our youth policy and recruiting Bradshaw would be a slap in the face to us all.

lol easy does it tough guy!

Was just an idea...not gospel...

No issue my friend- however if one(Bradshaw ) failed a medical yesterday ,I'm sure you would agree we do not need that.

Sorry- may be I was a little over the top-

No worries mate.

I think the rumour of Bradshaw failing the physical was BS, they confirmed it on SEN.

I think he will be on move today and i think the Bulldogs would be crazy not to give it a go.

Nah.

It's a forum.

Say what you like...

and some silly people said it was going to be a quiet trade week :lol:

always going to go gangbusters...it had to

By silly people do you mean silly person, and by silly person do you mean Freak?

No offence to the very insightful poster The Oracle, but Freak is The Bizarro Oracle.

Everything he says will come to pass...backwards...or reversed...upside-down...inside-out...

You know where I'm going with this.

...back-to-front...in Aramic...in Da Vinci's secret code...in Wingdings...

apparently the Dogs are about to sign some1,surely not Ball

Bradshaw ')

Dean Bailey has arrived.... maybe we have something cooking...........?

Oh dear god.

Oh shut up!

It tickled my funny bone.

Come to think of it, the common thread is actually Freak... an endless source of entertainment

Cameron Schwab has just arrived at Etihad Stadium.

Adrian Anderson says: 3 new rules (trading rookies, trading picks only, using mediation) all used this year, so he's a happy chappy. 23 players moved this year.

Still against Free Agency because under current situations clubs get compensation for moving players. Says the current system allows for fairness.

Mediation is good for trade week.

Mediation is good for trade week.

Agree. Makes sense to bring in third parties when clubs come to a stalemate, especially when players really want to leave. According to Adrian Anderson, no mediation was called for in the Luke Ball dealings.

Rossy Lyon didn't want to trade.

Which rookie was traded?

Just ten minutes to go and nothing happening except for the Fevola deal.

What's the Oracle going to do tomorrow?

So much for the theory that the big trades that take a long time to finalise hold up a whole lot of smaller deals. The Fev to Brisbane trade was effectively the last to go through and there was time for lots more to go through.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
