He cant get a game for Geelong.

Could slip into our forward line nicely. I would only trade a player for him though. No picks!

Bartram who is from Torquay could be possible. Miller? Dunn?

Thoughts?

You like making stupid suggestions, don't you?

Do you even watch AFL football??

Or do you just look at the footy cards and dream about what the game would be like?

Yes, We should trade for every other Club reject. They might be handy...who knows when.

BTW, doesn't Newton have a distant 3rd cousin twice removed who lives in Lorne? Definite Geelong connection there.

Of all the trade suggestions going around this has got to be up there with the worst. Tom Lonergan...*shudder*

Haha :D

seriously though, why the hell would anyone suggestion a 'geelong connection'? its not exactly like trying to fly perth to see family and friends, its 60 minutes by car, and i bet a pile of the geelong players live in melbourne anyway...

Melbourne don't need depth players. Get over trading recruiting dead wood

Look at all the dead wood st kilda traded for. Not all worked but they sure would be happy with quite a few of them.

especially Dawson, what a feelgood story that was

They are a team that is in the window for a premiership of coarse you would want ready made players instead of kids. they haven't played there kids all year.

Good call above. Lonergan no thanks - we've already got Dunn who could cover similar spots as depth. Watches the Saints yesterday and the depth was irrelivant - Hayes, Riewoldt, Montagna, Fisher, Gilbert and Dal Santo just killed them......the effort of Milne, Eddy, Ball, Blake, King didn't matter.

Trade for real talent only - ala Boak.

true Colm Begley they got from lions has been rarely sighted as well and only used 30 players wow

Dawson was not a trade but a rookie draft pick up by St Kilda.

I think there is a difference trading something for someone and picking up the player for free.

At pick 83 in LY's draft it would have taken something significant for him to get a game.

No thank you and we don't need Jake King either.

I'll pass.

i can't wait for the draft to be over...need to stop this madness!

We don’t need to chase any players…much prefer melb keep the cheque book closed and chip away at the debt. Melb need to develop the players we already have to realise what we really need to buy down the track. i realise GC are coming into play...but in a couple years we should be able to grab a 26/27 old player to fill a gap. GC are not going to want these kinds of players. And melbs debt should be under control.

'just gotta grin and bare it', DB.

Dunn occassionally travels through Geelong on the way to Bells for a surf..........so I guess he'd be an option......being familiar with Geelong and all..

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
