"Baby Bombers" because they were the only team to do it. Never heard of experienced, quality teams winning premierships, i guess before your time....Or, pretty much every year since 1993.

But still, hold your hat on the Bombers team of '93. 1 in 16 years is a great record

lol.. You actually hit the nail.. its about a team.. It was thrown at me that youngens cant do it.. I just proved it can.. Take umbrage if you will.. so be it. Of course there are a myriad forms a team can take.. I just thought we were concentrating on youth.. No ??

I understand your point. But Whelan can't help a team of youngsters you say? Never head of Tim Watson i guess

Ah..am not saying he cant help.. but is match day the time to do it ?? Almost goes hand in hand with the Bruce/splints issue..If you cant go out and give or perform at the highest level.. why allow it ?

I say he can perform at the highest level, you say he can't, i suppose we'll find out in the "baby Demons" premiership year of '09 ;)

Belzebub, here's one for you, a word association game.

What do you think of when you hear the names Yze and White?

Now, what do you think of when you hear the names McDonald and Whelan?

Enough said.

Pleasing news.

Wrecker has a calming influence on the defence these days. I love watching him tackle too!

Ah experience..yes.. by the time this team comes into its bloom..in 2-4 years there will be no Whelan.. so whats the point.. makes far more sense to get that EXPERIENCE into whomever wil be there

Whats the point...... The guy is a terrific player at the club, one that has given it his heart and soul and is a massive favourite of the fans. He may not be in career best from but he is playing good footy. If a player is not in career best form it does not mean they are worthless, 29 years old or not, just look at Rober Harvey. BTW 29 is not even that bloody old!

You have an opinion but are you honestly this strongly against re-signing Whelan or do you just like to argue, as you're doing on the Brock Mclean thread?

I would prefer only one of Jmac and Whelan to continue but as long as we still turn over 7-8 spots, I don't have a problem with the duo.

I could say the Hawthorn area and you would get about 8 schools

That would have been fine - just wondering where we were sending our players.

Cheers.

Absolutely, was the only man to stand up in the first half, first quarter especially.

Did it shift your view at all 'Bub?

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
