Demons v Bulldogs - squad

I think we need as many midfielders as possible so Bode, Bell and Valenti should play. I don't know why Carroll is named in front of Frawley who has been in the best 2 weeks in a row. I can't see a match up for Martin and we can't play 3 ruckman so White should not come in, so Newton hopefully takes the last spot on the bench.

Whether u like it or not, as I said last week, White will play..

Im hoping for:

White, Newton, Martin, Valenti..

BELL, what has he done 2 deserve a recall?? nothing, some of u guys desperately over rate him, hes done nothinbg but turn over the pill this year, he makes bad decisions and adds nothing!!

Id be astounded and aggrivated if he played, but he wont, so all is well..

IN: White, Morton

OUT: Davey, McLean (inj)

Quite simply, DB hasn't played the others much, if at all, for the whole season. Would love to see the bench that the majority of you want, but it will not happen.

I would expect the bench to read the below.

Interchange from: D.Bell, J.Bode, N.Carroll, S.Martin, M.Newton , S.Valenti, J.White

It's been mentioned a couple of times that there is no match up for Martin. Could we turn this to our advantage and have him in a more offensive role? Has he played much footy in attack? I've only seen him the once which was last game.

I would say Minson is surely the match up for Martin?

They are going into this game with Street, Minson and Hudson.

Martin will be very valuable for us.

and We need white back

Whether u like it or not, as I said last week, White will play..

why?

our ruck division performed reasonably without him. we havnt dropped either ruckmen (they are both named on the ground). white didnt dominate at sandy.

he may be recalled, but i cant see a presing reason. we dont need 3 ruckmen, especially not against the dogs.

What's everyone's thoughts on the result this week?

I'll happily take a 4 goal loss at Telstra!

I'm with Dean Bailey when he said some weeks ago “There's no point in turning up next week if we think we can't win the game,”

Also, when we played them last we were the better team for the first quarter and should have led at the first change. The Doggies were awful in that first quarter, we pressured them and they fumbled, made simple mistakes and looked at stages like amateurs. The big difference with them now is their confidence is up. Yes we did capitulate and that is part and parcel of a young team.

I remain optimistic cos I firmly believe we have the best coach & coaches, the best CEO, the best President, the best Football Operations man and some of the best young talent coming through of any team and when they learn to turn it on look out!

Dees by 3 in a nail biter (would be more but for umpiring gifts)

I for one don't want to see White come back in. We did fine without him last week. Maybe White could play as a midfielder/wingman, but I'd prefer to let Jamar and PJ take responsibility.

I'm expecting Bell to make the team because of the Dogs' smallish forward line.

IMO WHITE won't play as 2 other ruckmen are selected as starters.

BODE has been given the last 4 games and I think he'll go back to the magoos for more development.

Can't imagine MARTIN and VALENTI missing out ofter only 1 game back. They need game time.

CARROLL is probably only named as a backline emergency this time.

I think BELL makes it in as a stronger body against hard bodied opposition.

The bench may be BELL, MARTIN, VALENTI, NEWTON as most of you have already suggested.

Bode needs a rest at Sandy must earn his spot, Martin, Valenti and Newton all deserve another run for MFC, Carroll wont get a match up thus Bell is in, White needs to work for it more.

Bode needs to be delisted. He is rubbish and will never make the grade.

Looking forward to Morton returning. Hopefully his confidence is up and he has a great game.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
