I doubt ill be the only one but im guttered about todays win. Call me a bad supporter but there is little need of winning. We need more kids as this team will take 5+ years to be good grand final contenders. With the GC and Sydney teams coming in were screwed if we finish second last. Im really really guttered

Well I appreciate that you and some others will disagree with me but to me the fact of not winning is long term better than winning

well were 1 game closer to being above WCE now. and if we had lost to carlton last yr in final round we would have pick 1 and 3. More people would agree with my thoughts

What do you suggest occo

if it aint good, ur no melbourne supporter.

Well I think there's no better indication that the drafting system needs to be overhauled if a Melbourne supporter, after the year we've had, can't celebrate a 1-point victory.

I don't care who you are..... You are a moron!!!! 1,000+ posts or not..... You are the sort of person that I would pint glass over the head in a bar!!!!

You play football to win! My god! It is our 2nd win of the season! At least let us passionate supporters enjoy it before you start talking about how we should've tanked it!! Have a look at the joy on the player's faces after the game!

You are the true meaning of the word MORON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could completely understand where you're coming from if this was 10 hours or 2 days or 3 months after the game but in the excitement of the moment, how can you not get caught up in the absolute delight of winning a thriller? The positives of that win far outweigh any potential alteration of draft picks we receive at the end of the season.

Absolute crap. This post doesn't warrant a response, but I can't help myself. So if we finish last, we will saved, and become premiers in 2011. If we finish one position above we will be "screwed." Absolute crap. You have no idea what it takes to win a premiership. Listen to Jim Stynes on 774 right now.

No way. We wont be saved. We have no good FB and Frawley, Garland or Warnock may take that possie but will take plenty of time. CHF with rivers always injured theres noone to play there. No speed or excietement in the midfield. CHF possibly miller but who knows. FF Newton mabey. Ruck who knows. It will take a long long long time and its a fact we need the first pick. We need good picks. I want the long term sucsess rather than the short term. Im willing to see a 1 win season for Natanui. Anyway thats it for me. Couldnt care less what others think.

Don't stress, a number 1 pick doesn't guarantee a super star, we will pick within the top 3 and still should get a good player. We are far from the worst team in the league at the moment.

Enjoy the win, it is great for the club.

just got to richmond station and thought i would log on to discuss the incredible game i just watched, to see somebody sooking about a 1 point win after 35 minutes in the final quarter is really sad. Well done dees, i am proud of you.

If this wasn't a forum that children use, I would be using some seriously rude words right about now! "We won't be saved"????? But you are expecting Natanui to do it for us???? I seriously hope you have not bred others with the same attitude!!!

And by the way..... Try changing your favourite players list..... Johnstone doesn't play for us anymore!

Tool of the Week award by a mile!!

even if we finish 2nd, natanui will still be in the red and blue, WCE is after Daniel Rich, gun midfielder, without the go home factor, so its not all doom and gloom occo

but what a bloody win! couldn't make it today due to business commiments, but watched at home then rushed to get ready for work! kid and miller stood up today, as did brad green, and i think CJ reliased he was palying AFL football, and rose to the challenge!

Yep, I agree with that entirely Goodvibes. I've been all for tanking but its hard to say your not absolutely stoked to win against a top side, in such an exciting fashion. The cool light of day will probably prevail eventually, but for now I'm rapt that we pulled it off.

It was a brilliant win and l loved it, we need wins, l don't give rats tossbag about Natanui, Jack Watts is the go anyway, he will go no 2 or 3

You don't think we will be saved but you are willing to see a 1 win season for pick number 1? Flawed argument to say the least.

I couldn't care less what you think either. In future, please start a new thread if you want to discuss crap like this, as opposed to hijacking this one.

my argument relates to the win so ill post it here tool

That's disgusting and you're not a paid up member i bet.

The happiness on all the Dees players faces shows they coudn't give a stuff about no. 1 draft pick and they work their guts out day in,day out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!That's good enough for me.

Jamar killed them in the ruck today,so i'm not sure we'd take Naitanui anyway and from all reports,West Coast want Rich anyway as they have Cox.

I'm leaning towards Jack Watts, give me a gun Forward over a gun ruckman anyday. We'll get Warnock in the PSD anyway, how many ruckmen do you want?

You are pathetic, how about buying a membership and becoming a TRUE PAID UP MEMBER and start hoping we win games for the TEAM'S future development!!!!!!!!!

Imbecile!

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
