what is happening with the 20 20 match today?

QLD 4/110 (9 overs) NSW 7/53 (8 Overs)

only get score updates

NSW - Homebush interrupted by rain again *sigh* - typical Sydney weather.

Reduced overs, looks as though the Bulls have done it easy.

The Redbacks are already in the final, and it will more than likely the Bulls or Warriors for the Prelim.

How do you figure that HT? Doesn't a win get us into the prelim?

We need a BIG win over Tassie. We have a very poor Net Run rate thanks to the big loss at the hands of SA.

That's why I stated "more than likely".

It's possible, but we need a massive win on Friday.

edit: also the Warriors and Bulls play each other so who ever losses and Vics win it will come down to run rate. Vics are well into the negative though.

VICS still a minor chance

Put it this way, a win over tassie like SA had over the Vics will give us a chance for the Prelim.

Apologies...I thought I saw on table on fox cricket after the match, both warriors & bulls on 6 points, so I gather they've both had 2 wins - as the Vics have.

We have to win then.

edit: Saw the table again since. They are both on 4 points with Vics on 4 points, confirming that the Vics are a better chance than I first thought.

Must have been hallucinating.

2/52 with both Aussie openers out after winning the toss and batting.

Why is Clarke coming in after M. Hussey ? Strange.

Shouldn't Hauritz come in before Clarke to protrect him from the new ball?

What is there to protect ?

His back ?

His Aston Martin ?

I was being sarcastic over the Melb test when he squibbed the final overs on day 1 of a Test match.

His alleged fiancee *cough* can look after the Aston Martin. Its not good having a bingle around such a fine car.

Indeed. Leaving the keys in the car. I suppose we could forgive her, being blonde and all..

Or if she had allowed someone access to the keys.......... Hmmm ;)

On a better topic, Punter gets a ton and the owner of the Top Gear Toy is getting close.

3/226 of 61 overs. Pitch is a belter. We need to bowl well to get 20 wickets.

Batting well the skipper and 007.

I'd really like to see them bat on and make "BIG" (sorry 45h16) scores. It's about time Punter got a double century.

edit: -

8 runs from the 200 partnership.

England win the toss and chose to bat only to be humbled by Morkel and Steyn, with the latter taking 5-51, for 180. Steyn now has a five-for against all test playing nations.

Strauss becomes the first Englishman to go first ball in a test for 73 years!

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
