Sunday's game - what are you looking for?

Featured Replies

I want the boys to play accountable footy, break the lines, deliver with poise and confidence and not be overawed by a very good team.

What are your expectations?

PS I still think Franklin is a [censored]!!

Bring back the Biff!

I would be over the moon if Garland belted someone and got 6 weeks.

looking for?- A win to stick it up to the cocky wankers and for all of our 22 players and coaching staff to stand in a line and all simultaneously raise one arm, then make a fist then lift the middle finger of the fist to Jeff Kennet.

What am i expecting? A much improved performance from rd 1 and hopefully less than 39 pt loss.

A win. The upset of the year!!!!

A great game of footy...A WIN !!!!!! ...now that would shut Kennett up .

GO DEES

I'm looking for us to play competitive and attacking footy.

I also hope some of our younger players give us something to dream about.

A win.....for Neita!

Just play with the same heart that Moloney plays with.

And the same frustration and aggro when things aren't going well....

I reckon this game will be "on," most games generate their tension from the fans and we are tense aren't we....

The younger players will learn a few things on Sunday. They'll see some tough footy wether they want to or not.

Hopefully Moloney, Brock, Jones, Miller, Batram, and Macca can inspire some toughness in the others.

i have this top from the 88 prelim final of a demon sticking his c**k up a hawks arse.... would like to be able to see our boys win so it gets another go lol..

I love that top.. why did they stop making them

I want to see a close hard fought win, with Brock McLean playing a blinder, grabbing his jumper at the end of the game and pointing down the camera and saying "That's your football club Melbourne!"

I suggest a photo of this top be posted online immediatley.

Expecting a very agressive first quarter from our boys after Nieta gives them a rev up B4 the game. Although we probably will not sustain that agression for the match we will go down fighting this time and personally I`d be happy with a anything better than a 6 goal loss. Cam Bruce to play his best game of the year.

Milller. I don't know if i've bagged him on here but God knows i've bagged him to mates. I want him to lead the way like he did against Freo. I don't expect a bag of goals, just take a giant leap towards Neitas ethic. Work hard, make opposition players earn the ball when he's about and lead the team with actions. A five point win would see me flying for the rest of the week.

Improvement on our effort in Round 1. By that I mean a win. If not a win then not a 100-point loss.

Did happen and well done to all the boys even though two or three had crap games it is very hard to get everyone firing at once.

Well fought out gyus and good growth and commitment..

Aussie your a star.. bate class act

Well done to greeny, jamar for trying hard. holland before injury, mollony,Brockster, and jones ... great to watch.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
