did you see fev tonight? i wouldn't want that [censored] at our club for free.

I don't think they'd do it. Plus, the risk would be too great for us. Fev is a total loon, and I wouldn't want him anywhere near my beloved club, no matter how many goals he kicks. I'd do it if they substituted Murphy or Gibbs for him though. Even if we didn't get their 2nd round pick.

Nope. We're going to take a while to get back to being a strength. Feva would take our money and run. He's too old. No way.

Bottoming out means rebuilding. We trade for under 23s and draft picks. No point bottoming out to do s a semi top up whihc lasts 2 season,s only to have ot rebuild again in a short space. We need to do a proper rebuild, not a Danners rebuild.

Sory Fev, no red and blue for you. If we land pick 1 or 2 (face it, one of them will be the dees this year) we should use it to select rich or Naita. Any players such as the named Brad Green, or others, should be dealt for picks or young developing players.

Next 2 seasons will be rebuilding. I am not ruling out a talented over 23 in PSD, but trading our top picks for an over 23 during trade week is suicide.

Pick 1 for Fevola? What are you smoking mate?

You would give up Naitanui for Fev???????????

Rule Number 1 - Never trade your first pick

Rule Number 2 - Never talk about Fight Club

Nope and Nope.

Pick 1 and the freshly anointed Bluey Truscott Trophy winner, for an erratic, mature-age adolescent and a slightly lower draft pick, plus a vague unreliable later pick? not worth it for us, Nope.

Fevola is worth a lot to Carlton, beyond his playing contribution (which is immense given that key talls are in short supply) he is one of the faces of the club - despite or even because of his erratic behaviour. Controversy = Cash, as some hack promotions guy from the USA likes to say. Not worth it for Carlton, Nope.

Russell Robertson & Pick 4

for

Jonathan Brown.

Probably not enough?

We need to rebuild, if we can get older players for free in the PSD then sure but I'd rather keep our draft picks.

Trading for Brown and Fevola would send us backwards.

i'm not going to name a trade we should make... trades listed by most people are ridiculous and one sided... fev for carroll and pick 17? please...

but a player i think we should target is Tim Boyle. Hawthorn would never get rid of Buddy or Roughead, but Boyle will always struggle to fit into a forward line with Franklin, Williams, Roughead, Rioli...

Think he could be really good for our forward line, and is a player hawthorn would consider trading.

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
