Darwin game dumped
I agree beelzebub. Our club has sunk low. We need to restore pride. 'Melbourne' Football Club! Travelling to away games or practices matches is okay, but not for 'home' games.

Time to show Oscar some respect!
That's right. I forgot about how it happened. He was only changing directions wasn't he?

Hopefully. I'm a bit apprehensive about Lever's knee problems being fixed for good. But with him back our depth is much improved. Joel Smith was doing really well up until his injury. Attacks the ball without much thought of his own safety, like he's Dad. Hopefully he'll be already by next season.

We don't have many large defenders to rotate with Omac as well. Pedersen came to mind because he now epitomizes fringe first team, second team player. Hopefully he still has a few years in him.

It's interesting to read that a lot people who are happy and confident with him are also saying he get's picked on by so many. It highlights a real divide in opinion. I personally think he get's too much leeway and first team games. Reserve and first team footy this year and last would have been good for him. He's kicking is pretty competent. He's handballing on his right side is also fairly good. And he's spoiling is fairly good. Hopefully with time and experience he'll improve his impact off the ball, he's tackling, awareness, he's aggression and he's reaction time. A lot of people must seem to think that playing in the reserves isn't playing for us. Pederson is a proven gun and he plays in the reserves almost every week. What i'm getting at is Omac may become this defensive beast in time and play every 1st team game like some think he will, or he may not advance that much further; but still be handy for both the reserve and first team.

160th Anniversary Jumper
Ambivalent about this one at the moment. Shame the AFL logo is so prominent and the sponsors.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I surprised to hear his left handed. I recall him favouring his right hand when handballing. It makes more sense of his unusual hand position when dropping the ball.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
How do you listen to a post? Hehe. He holds the ball in a way to suit his left boot, kind of; but his run up, as silly as it looks, is for his right boot.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
If the season was over, then maybe i'd talk trades. We got to use what we've got for now. What happens when your newly recruited player starts under preforming..... trade talks begin again? Hogan's fix's the one flaw in his game eg, instead of stuttering up to his set shot at goal like he's trying to pull off a ridiculous dance maneuver and just kick the skin off it; he'd at the very least be a 50/50 chance and we'd all love him.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
He's a bad set shot kick, but a good field kick.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I agree on discussing what would be helpful, I just don't like the hysterical premise. The season's not over, we need positive solutions now, not next year. Maybe play Hogan strictly at half forward and in the middle next week?

What a depressing thread!

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
It's a shame there's only one Tom! We could of used Frost's pace of the half back line today. Collingwood are quite athletic and Frost is one of our more athletic players. Good to keep rotation going though. We lost today and people start questioning Goodwin again, where's the phrase for him giving consistent match time to youngsters Spargo and Fritsch? At first i thought that was risky, but i wouldn't remove them now.

I'm not sure and i don't care when you started this post; but the fact is Tom is brilliant for us, his brother has improved but still isn't solid. Jordan has played very well most games i've watched. And believe me, i did want Melbourne to draft him. he was a wa#%#r at Hawthorn.

Best MFC team in last 50 years
It's been an interesting discussion so far. Nice post big Carl. Here's the team i'd like: A Jones J Frawley S White B Lovett D Neitz M Whelan R Flower N Jones S Tingay G Lyon D Schwartz A Davey J Farmer A Jacovich B Green Rucks: J White, (C)T Viney, T Johnston Interchange: K Dyson, S Wowoden, C Bizzel, D Bennet Emergencies: J Stynes, A Yze, R Jackson, R Grinter, C Sylvia Ps; In my opinion, Brad Green should only of ever played in or on the 50m line. And I don't care about people mentioning that Colin Sylvia became a lazy player.

It's a good team. I'd want Tingay, Jeff White and Shaun White in there.
