  1. The comparison is of Frost now and Howe back when he was at Melbourne, why do you state that Frost isn't half the player Howe is? They're at different stages of their carrers. I think the comparison is about highlighting the difference between clubs ability to get the most out of players. And if Melbourne can't get the best out of the raw talent that Frost has, other clubs will.
  2. I had a bad feeling the other day that a club like Hawthorn would definitely want him and support him to the next level. It's like a recurring nightmare. Us giving up talent for some low (who cares) draft pick and Hawthorn scouting talent from everywhere. The thought is making me sick.
  3. One word respone to this thread - Pessimism.
  4. It seems the turd still hasn't been flushed!
  5. You've got a right to have your opinion of course; but so do May and Frost, and they have to work together and build a relationship. They need space. To squelch any passion from our players right now seems totally regressive.
  6. You'd want to pacify a player (May) that plays like a beast that isn't afraid of anyone? At a club (our club) who haven't had anyone so fearless and impassioned before in my short memory?
  7. Mmm.. 5 million Jeff Kennett's... yuk! One is more than enough. Hehe. I get your point and agree.
  8. Cool mate, i'll keep it in mind next gameday. Touch base for future matches.
  9. A thread for all the Gold Coast Mebourne fans to engage in, catch up to watch the match somewhere, discuss getting to the grounds up here. I'll most likely be watching Melb v Freo at Fisherman's Wharf Tavern. Would be great to catch up with some others Dees for the match! Go the Dees!!
  10. I think there needs to be more sophisticated methods used to ensure fans treat other fans with respect. Perhaps replace the wages for the new crowd behavioural officers (watch dogs) with wages for a team of people who conduct surveys pre and post gameday about their experience. This is just a quick thought that came to mind as an example. I don't really care what the method is, but i assume it's better to work with fans rather than alienating or punishing them.
  11. Prohibiting alcohol takes away from fans who 'do the right thing' as well. I don't believe in blaming alcohol helps.
  12. Imagine being a hawks supporter and having to wear their horrid colours!!
  13. Surprise packet : Marty Hore/Oskar Baker/Harmes's attitude. Disappointment : Kick for goal/kicking into fifty/lack of pace/composure.
  14. To support the Dee's!? It will 80-20 crowd split if only the staunch turn up.
  15. I think Frost will benefit from May and Lever in the back line. Are you in the above quote referring to the play in the last 5 minutes against GWS? I remember looking at it thinking Frost had no faith in Oscar catching his opponent, so he rushed to intercept but then changed his mind. The problem was, even if Frost stayed with his own man, Oscar was useless because he's too slow to catch... well most AFL players. So I feel for Frosty there, he takes the fall.
  16. I feel Frost's clangers get commented on too much without mention of his positives. He's tall, fast, strong, quite aggressive at the ball, bold (I'm sure with support he can continue to refine his distribution), has a long kick, tackles well. I worry about Lever staying injury free for long periods. Hoping he'll be good for us. Strange post though, Frost and Hore play different positions.
  17. Nether should miss out. Wagners, and Oscar should make room.
  18. There was also a ridiculous free kick awarded to Kennendy in the first for getting out witted and out muscled by frost. 20 meters out!
  19. I agree. We have mostly passive players. If Preuss was along side, he would of nailed Vardy for that!
  20. A frustrating loss has brought out so much sourness! I and suspect most Melbourne fans assumed we'd get rolled over tonight, but to my surprise we played our best game of the season.
  21. Salem's brilliant. Disagree With your assessment on Tracc And Tommy. And Lewis is still valuable. Wagner played well for his ability, but hopefully we'll be able to replace him in the first team when other's become available.
