The umpires from the Dockers/Crows game flew over. Hogan needs to stop playing for the whistle. Melksham’s disposal cost us two. Tackle to hurt, tackle so they can’t dispose of the bloody thing. 3 key forwards and we’re still bombing it inside 50.
-
Just read it’s Petracc’a 50th game today. No more cameos please, time to tear it apart.

Would be ideal but let’s be honest, it’s never going to happen. And as we know a goal kicked or missed could then change the game going forward. 2 decisions last night which were blatantly obvious in the first qtr were the Crows player running towards the goals chasing the ball which was heading for a behind and pushed squarely in the back and over the line. An obvious free kick and an easy snap would of resulted in a goal. The second was the Texan marking the ball right on qtr time. He didn’t push his opponent he used his forearm which is legal and the umpire could see how it played out. I hate 17 other clubs with a passion (Richmond by far the most) but I do enjoy a punt. I bet small (to modest) amounts on multi bets containing all the games of the round. Whilst I understand mistakes are made by umpires (as well as players) when they are as obvious as the ones mentioned above, I along with others have the right to feel ripped off.

I watched 3/4 of that game, the umpiring in parts was disgraceful. Crows lost a couple of early goals because of it. If the AFL wants to benefit from gambling then punters should be made aware of which teams will be favoured week to week by the umpires.

Well that is poor form. I know he wasn’t playing his last game but I still think he should of been extended the courtesy. -

I missed the majority of the game due to work and haven’t had a chance to read this whole thread but am I right in thinking that the Bulldogs players didn’t stay on the ground to form a guard of honour for Jones when he was carried off? -
If Port can’t win tonight they might as well shut up shop for the year.

Is there a reason that thread can’t be pinned? -
Tom McDonald Re-Signs for 4 Years

Fully pumped, massive signing. Flying down Thursday night for 5 days. Can’t wait for Monday. -
Fair call, their losing margin has reduced significantly this year. Definitely playing a better brand of footy this year.
-
So what will this weeks upsets be? Suns over the Cats? Bombers over the Tigers? Hawks v Port will be interesting.

We came to play. Our ball movement. Our selflessness. Our forward options. Angus Brayshaw. and finally.... Hogans goal kicking accuracy is back. -
Smith holding his marks today, he’s played well.
-
The most exciting thing is it’s hard to single any one player out, they have come to play and are coming to play week in week out. Continuity is key.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 10

Regardless of foot/ankle how bloody frustrating for everyone involved. Please be nothing serious. -
It’s all about salary rotation. TMac is at the peak of his powers and will be paid accordingly. Gawn is currently in the middle of his, Jones is out of contract next year, whilst he will no doubt go on he’s had his time at the top. Petracca still has to earn his. At the end of the day we may lose someone but the majority should stay at the club.
-
Depends on criteria, key forwards that can take the big park marks in crucial moments are valuable.
-
A couple of posters offering up Smith’s stats. If we are being honest if we were asked straight after the game (without checking the numbers) for our thoughts on his game/impact would the two align? In Viney was given another run in the two’s and Tyson played would we still call for no changes. Regardless of the result we should be playing our best available.
-
Hogan needs to stop playing for frees. Go hard unless you hear the whistle.
-
Lever should of punched it.

I flew down under the cover of darkness on Friday night. I’ve brought some family to their first game, looking forward to a big win. Today I’d like to see us tighten up defensively inside our fwd 50. When opposition teams try to kick it out long we set up pretty well but when they go the short kick then a series of handballs or short kick/hand ball receive run and kick when get caught wanting.

Round 9 Non MFC Games ... Shanghai Dumplings
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
Did anyone see Talia get pinned for taking the legs of the Bulldogs player, that was a disgraceful call and goes against what the game is about. -

If we beat the Crows we should hopefully go unbeaten in the remaining games to the bye. -
Some dubious umpiring already in the North v Tigers game.
