I live in Sydney and have spoken to die hard rugby league fans who are starting to admit how boring league is, but they were brought up watching it and it’s all they know. But now betting is bigger than ever they’ve starting to place a few bets on the AFL and the natural progression was to start watching a few games where they had a financial interest and they’ve enjoyed it a lot more than league.
-
What reason is that? I’d say purely because that’s what they’ve been brought up watching / playing. Not because it’s the most exciting or entertaining game to watch, AFL holds that title.

[censored] that first final frustrated me, we were so slow to react. They are a good side but I’m confident we’ve got them covered next season.

Keep playing Franklin ahead of Amartey and McDonald. Hopefully they both walk.

Extra "MAGIC" Round in 2023?
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
These same clowns think 19 teams are sustainable. -
Going off that Geelong has the hardest draw playing Pies, Swans, Freo and Dogs twice.

With regards to the Anzac Eve game, is that ticketed differently due to the nature of the game? I’ve never been and am looking to go next year. Thanks

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition

The big unknown is what gameplan Lyon will have them play. Plus King is out. -
Barring serious injury to numerous players we simply must win it in 2023. We’ve tasted success, you could argue last year we had some injuries, bad luck and some unsettling influences, but we’re now back at arguably full strength with the addition of Grundy and Hunter. We may never see this much talent in their prime again on our list. Our coaching team also didn’t get raided as we had thought, what have we learnt from last season?

I’m interested to see how the Swans manage Buddy next season, hopefully it’s to the detriment of the club and any top 4 aspirations they might have. I think Brisbane will replace the Swans in the top 4.

They’re no certainties against those 3 for mine. -
I’m really interested to see how the Lions go with Dunkley and Gunston (I wished we had got him). Prior to the Lions beating us in the semi final we destroyed them in Rd .15 117 v 53 Rd. 23 115 v 57 How much of our semi final loss was them and how much was us. They have a tough draw so will be interesting to see the final make up of the 8 next season.

Eagles guess where?

Hawks & Norf twice = 4 wins.

I live here so it’s a win for family, especially after no Sydney game last year.

Anything less than winning the flag next season is a massive fail.

Can’t have too many small fwds that don’t hit the scoreboard.

Stale. What’s changed up fwd, that’s a large part of what went wrong last season. Isn’t Brown going to have a delayed start after surgery? Out. : Brown Spargo In : JVR Chandler

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I just rewatched these two highlights clips purely for their marks, for someone who apparently shows no physicality Jefferson seems to not only throw himself into marking contests, also reads the flight of the ball well and uses his leap and body to protect the ball drop and take countless contested marks. Cadman also takes some nice contested marks but doesn’t seem to have the leap or aerial attributes that Jefferson does. They are clearly two different types of forwards. I will be watching both careers with great interest. -
Some people put more effort into their social media accounts then actual meaningful real relationships. In the last twelve months I’ve gotten married, travelled overseas and interstate but posted none of it on my socials (I only have FB and Insta but mainly for footy stuff) but instead chose to share it privately either by text or messenger. Too many people live by “if it’s not on FB it didn’t happen “.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson

I understand he’s not a Hawkins clone but the above shows a smart footballer that uses his body, vertical leap and reach to protect the ball drop and take numerous one grab contested marks. Let’s not forget Hogan had his flaws. As for Humphrey I might be in the minority but I’m happy we didn’t give up three first rd picks (all be it picks in the late teens) for him. For all of his physical presence there are apparently question marks over his disposal. I agree we are a contested side but we yearn for class finishers and I think Jeffery will give us that in years to come. -

I’m happy with this selection, just like JVR he will be given time to learn and grow. -
Appreciate the insight, from the available footage he can take a mark and doesn’t mind the contest but unless you’re a key defender I’d be hesitant to use a top 10 pick on a kid who’s disposal by foot is questionable.
