  1. Port along with Brisbane yet to beat a top 8 team. Let's hope we do get some players back against them because you can see what will happen when we play them.
  2. Just saw a report on fox, Viney had scans, results later today, Tyson couldn't even drive his car this morning, hurt his knee in the last 30 seconds, FMD!
  3. The more I think about it, the more it irks me. Apart from GWS and we know the talent pool they have been gifted, no other team would have gone close to the Swans last night under these circumstances. In saying that I don't think GWS have gone through a patch like we have anyway. Our players are dropping like flies and from what I read, our training loads have been minimised to compensate for this tough month. Now, I sit comfortably in saying, that for the first time ever I couldn't care less if players last night went in half hearted or without the required effort. Enough is enough and the boys have been exceptional with winning 3 from the last 4. I don't blame one single person from the MFC last night for the loss and even if Trengove, JKH, Weed or Kent had played, the result would be exactly the same.
  4. Saw the hit as well, looked like Max got hit in the lower rib section or close to his manhood. He was in disbelief he didn't get a free in that ruck contest, whilst grimacing in pain on the ground he was looking at the ump with a "are you bloody serious mate" look on his face.
  5. Thought both were in our best by far tonight, Oscar looked calm, composed like a veteran and read the play really well. T Mac led from the front but unfortunately lacked support. On a night where we had the fumbles and lacked composure trying to go forward their ball handling was exceptional.
  6. I don't like losing as much as the next bloke and I don't believe in the cliche " the loss we needed to have." Reality is, Essendon gave the Swans a lifeline last week and tonight was always going to be a tough assignment against a seasoned outfit at full strength. We have to consider the fact that not only our players out are easily the first picked, they are also match winners on their day. Petracca looked the only one tonight that could win it for us. Most of the boys looked cooked and I don't blame them one bit. I found the second half somewhat admirable to be honest, I might be in the minority here but after watching the captain limp out of the huddle and straight down the rooms just prior to the second half commencing, it sent a dagger through my heart. It was 3.7 to 6.4 in the second half and a lot of teams would have completely got themselves blown off the park at this stage without any true leaders out there. Plenty of footy ahead, just hope the footy gods are kind to us soon.
  7. Looked like Viney hurt himself in the warm up prior to 3rd quarter. Came out of the huddle limping.
  8. I hope i haven't gone too early on the Hunt call, the trainer wouldn't be playing games with me, would he? Maybe I should have waited until it's official.
  9. Hunt playing, he was out on the ground having a kick. Trainer says he's good to go.
  10. Everybody, start getting into game mode. Let's replicate the manic last minutes of the QB clash for the boys. We can do this tonight!!
  11. Just us by the sound of it, although on SEN last night Mark Fine was adamant that Sinclair will play tonight as a late in. Unsure how good his mail is.
  12. If Hunt out and Weed comes in, it looks like this. Salem, Garlett and Hunt out. White, Weed and Wagner in. We have lost a lot of run there.
  13. Was just about to post the same thing! At first glance I started crying.
  14. In years gone by, a game like tonight would have many of the Melbourne faithful heading to the G with hope of the boys just being competitive. With the scheduling of the last month, injuries and 5 of your best players out you wouldn't even blame some of us for not turning up. Something has changed though, Goodwin and Co have embraced this challenge and provided us a bunch of depth players that are playing with a heart the size of Phar Lap. The last 10 minutes against West Coast was clearly evident of this. By no means, is a loss against the swans catastrophic in the context of the season but try and telling that to the players that run out tonight. A win tonight will certainly Raise Hell!!!!
  15. I'm surprised at the inclusion, was mentioned by other posters that he might come in but I didn't think it would happen. Faith in the match committee I guess.
  16. 2 hours , 45 minutes and counting until selection. Once again, I will be flat come bounce, the anticipation is just eating away at me. I look at our top players that are missing and I think this will be some win if we get up, on the other hand, albeit important , only Jeffy and Salem miss from the team last week. They had minimal impact last week so tonight's selection looms as the biggest of the year. Goodwin and Co need to get this right.
  17. I would go with Kent for Garlett . Kent needs to improve on his forward pressure a great deal and on the big stage he will have nowhere to hide and he could go from a list clogger to an integral part in our journey. We will miss Jeffy with his speed and tackling pressure but Kent provides the closest thing to a replacement with his own speed and long kicking. He's a line breaker and it might just work out against the Swans slow defence.
  18. David Neitz, Hamish Macintosh and Wayne Henwood.
  19. Wasted 3 hours following the tribunal, I could have watched the replay.
  20. Numb is a great way to put it! Maybe we should have challenged Hogan's ban.
  21. David Neitz is on the panel tonight.
  22. I hope it doesn't get nasty for Oliver, today at work for the second day running another Essendon fan stated to me Oliver should audition for Home and Away and Neigbours. That made my blood boil, seems Melbourne supporters are fair game now also. I can't imagine what's running through his mind with all the social media abuse but one thing I will say is , Oliver has 40 odd brothers in red and blue, 21 of them will run out with him Friday night and around 40,000 family members will be there to stand behind him as ONE!!! The STAGE is set young man!!!
  23. An Essendon supporter greeted me at work this morning by telling me Oliver needs to take a good hard look at himself. That caused the first twitch in my eye, I returned serve with the points you stated, Schofield being the real issue here and I couldn't care less if Oliver dived or did not. His next response was, nah mate Schofield only did what Jones, Viney and Bugg have been doing all year. Well, that was enough for both eyes to start twitching, I had to stop my task immediately before a verbal spat ignited, found the smoking balcony and sucked down a quick Winnie Blue whilst jumping on Demonland to calm down.
