  1. Also, the Zephyr is nominated for two decent races at Caulfield again this week. One is a set weights race, I don’t think he’s ever had a start in one of those, I’ll have to check.
  2. Come to think of it, Macca is spot on, the onus falls on the 4th contributor. Happy with more suggestion fellas, I don’t want to blow the first trifecta. @Wadda We Sing have your leathers ready!! Make sure you’re in the film clip
  3. That will work Macca. I’m still putting my hand up for the 4th contributor this week.
  4. Lol, I really should have boiled the kettle before typing
  5. Hi fellas. It was your idea @Macca, more than happy for you to have a selection for the win. I’m happy to be the 4th this week or maybe we can go with an emergency system. For example, Wadda, Macca, Binman place a selection for 1st which also goes in for 2nd and 3rd. That leaves 3 horses for 2nd and 3rd to be added, hope I’m getting this right. The same 3 people each pick a horse for the additional placegetters. If selections aren’t in say by 12.00pm on raceday in steps the emergency with their selection of a winner and additional placegetter. I hope that makes sense, long day at work today. Edit: Happy to run with the consensus.
  6. He’s a beauty Macca. No need to black book it as I’m sure you’ll be all over it when he returns. Placed more than half his starts at Group & Listed level, runs ok in the wet and maybe you have mentioned it previously but I wasn’t aware the horse started its career in NSW where it didn’t register a single win apart from a barrier trial. The move West certainly worked.
  7. I like your idea so much that I’ve looked at the possible fields for Saturday at Randwick. I’m guessing fields will be finalised in the next couple of days but the All Aged Stakes is shaping up as a really good race. http://racingaustralia.horse/FreeFields/Weights.aspx?Key=2018Apr21,NSW,Royal Randwick
  8. @Macca That’s where 3-4 brains working together can provide a name such as Miss Admiration. Only 3 lengths off the winner in the VRC Oaks. Like @Wadda We Sing suggested “Working From Home” was a decent chance of winning in a post early in the day on Saturday. Made mention of some money coming in for the horse due to the wet weather.
  9. Great suggestion Macca, I’m all for new suggestions and there’s definitely no harm in trying. It’s been difficult the last few weeks trying to find standouts, this way we can concentrate on a race or two and not having to worry about scouting far and wide.
  10. G’day Macca. Thanks for posting, this thread runs hot once a week unlike some of the other threads on the footy board, they will probably remain on fire for the next 8 days. Nice and calm over here, at least until I watch the Alizee race.
  11. Watched the Caps v Jackets game today. Thought Columbus were a sneaky chance to win the series but didn’t expect them to go back home 2-0 up. Will follow them closely as Artemi Panarin is one of my favourite players. Still gutted the Hawks traded him. Do you give the Kings any chance from 3-0 down?
  12. Thanks Macca. Personally, I’d love to see a match race between Winx and one of her rivals. Never going to happen though. Watching the American style of racing reminded me of a great story about the little champ “Seabiscuit” during the Great Depression. I highly recommend the book to anyone that enjoys racing. Seabiscuit- Three Men And A Racehorse We are lucky we have seen two of the finest thoroughbreds in Black Caviar and Winx. We are often reminded of Australia’s rich racing history with Phar Lap and Tulloch, the Seabiscuit story adds to the history of racing in general. Here’s a video of a match race. This is only a small part of the story and hopefully not a spoiler.
  13. Yes, money back Macca. In excess of 60k for the quaddie, I know a few that follow jockeys but not many that would follow D.Moor.
  14. Wow, D Moor rides the quaddie at Caulfield. Had to throw a couple of bucks on Working From Home, seems that is what we are doing today.
  15. Tough day Macca all round, lucky I didn’t follow Saint Velorem, stayed in the barriers and missed the start by 7 lengths, that feels like a win.
  16. Good luck with your tri coming up @Macca
  17. PL Macca, simply PL. Great win though, but PL
  18. Lol, the Great Gunrunner has run 3rd twice at Port Hedland Wadda, Winx still has a little catching up to do.? How lucky are we? Black Caviar, now Winx !???
  19. In the first 4 races, the winning jockeys in Adelaide have gone H Coffey/J Kah/H Coffey/ J Kah. Both ride decent chances in the next.
  20. What do think about Saint Valorems chances in the race Macca? I followed the horse last preparation without too much success.
  21. Can someone let us know when Viridine finds a way out? Lap full of horse.....just a little annoying sometimes this caper.
  22. Thanks Macca, i had no idea until now. My first collect, does that count?
  23. Lol, that’s the Australian version. Gun Runner is American. If I searched correctly, record stands as 19 Starts- 12-3-2.
  24. Here he is Wadda. ?? https://www.racing.com/horses/gunrunner
  25. The scratchings will aid his quest somewhat to break the streak Macca. A lot will need to go right for Dan to salute IMO. It’s interesting they kept the horse at 1200m, with the way he hit the line I thought a step-up to 1400m would be ideal. Looking forward to an enjoyable day in front of the box.
