I might be playing it safe but Oregon’s Day is my selection. Untried at the 2000m but after watching her last start win it suggests the extra 200 shouldn’t be an issue. Terrific win pulling away impressively late. Looking at all her form, the mare seems quite versatile in regards to settling positions and from barrier 2 J Byrne shouldn’t have an issue gaining a good position from the jump.

Clarke stated she didn’t want to draw barrier 1,2 or 3 down the straight but I’m willing to put my JJ hat on and back what I feel is a classy horse. I’ve noticed a lot of our Best Bets for a particular weekend pop us as winners in following starts. Osbourne Bulls a few minutes ago, Hear The Chant earlier today, French Emotion last week at very good odds mind you. Might have to do a scroll through all our picks so far to see how they back-up.

Mentioning the wide barrier in regards to Houtzen in your post Macca reminded me of a fellow punter up north stating to me wide barriers in short trips at Doomben don’t have much success. The purse was 10,000 pounds hence the name change.
