A Day at the Races
The scratchings will aid his quest somewhat to break the streak Macca. A lot will need to go right for Dan to salute IMO. It’s interesting they kept the horse at 1200m, with the way he hit the line I thought a step-up to 1400m would be ideal. Looking forward to an enjoyable day in front of the box.

NHL
If today’s game is anything to go by Macca, the Vegas vs LA series could go down to the wire. Vegas more than held their own in the hit department but could that wear them down if it goes to 7? They are one of the quickest skating teams I have seen, Vegas started the game well but gradually the Kings started to create scoring chances not so clear cut though, Fleury was great in goals for Vegas on the back of some good defensive plays by their D men. LA needs Muzzin back ASAP, he’s a big loss, especially from an offensive production aspect. I hope the Leafs knock those Bruins out in 4. Game 7 back in 2013 between those two was one of the most heartbreaking games I have ever seen. Leafs up 4-1 with 10 mins to go and lost 5-4 in OT. Many would agree that playoff hockey is one the most exciting spectacles on the planet. Tipping Nashville to win the Cup.

A Day at the Races
I saw a caption on TV a little earlier Macca, I believe it was from the Waller camp, in their opinion, there are 4-5 horses that can beat her in the race. Also, some rumours earlier in the week on radio and one article on racing.com about the Queen Elizabeth being her last start possibly. Have you heard anything similar?

Ha Ha Macca, it felt a little like cheating by suggesting Almandin early. This is more of an option being “safe”. Funny you mentioned “Handsome Thief”. I almost made it my “ Best”, didn’t want to disrespect the Great Zephyr , odds are very short too. Nice pick “Hiyaam” by the way.

Love the NHL, no Blackhawks this post-season. Looking forward to the Maple Leafs v Boston series. Maple Leafs owe them big time from a few years ago.

A Day at the Races
Going early fellas. Best Bet: Randwick Race 8 No.1 Almandin. Currently $4.20 with TAB, hoping the “Class” factor gets him home. Tricky fields once again and found it hard to identify a standout. Dan Zephyr returns. Caulfield Race8 No.9 Connections were happy with the way the horse hit the line last start. Can’t draw a barrier to save its life, drawing wide (12) again. Last night odds for Dan showed $51, into $41 this morning. Maybe the plunge came on the back of a humorous twist. The horse hasn’t won for 17 runs, yes folks, a 17 run losing streak, sound familiar? “Nobody beats the Zephyr 18 times in a row”.

Great thanks mate. Kids got a few slaps at the end from the players and now they’re all smiles. Hoodoo done and dusted!

Very smart selection Wadda. Nothing in Brisbane’s two games so far has indicated a blow out against Port.

A Day at the Races
You just fell in with the Brisbane selection Wadda.

Not IMO Wadda. Front row behind Punt Rd goals bottom level. Kids refuse to sit anywhere else, you know...... they want a Hi-5 from the players after games should we win. This is the only place I can take them where I don’t hear the words “ Dad, I’m bored”

Will do Wadda, seems kids are in good voice also.

A Day at the Races
I missed the race with the mad rush of getting to the G. Cheers Macca for suggesting the place multi. Still alive.

A Day at the Races
Could be a big day tomorrow Wadda, a big price multi and dare I say it......a red and blue hoodoo breaker.

A Day at the Races
Best Bet: Randwick 2 No.1 Holy Snow $4.00 Running really well in strong company. Looked the winner last start until Unforgotten came from the clouds to nose it out. Flew home behind Grunt two starts ago at odds.

I’m almost tempted to make that my Best Macca but must respect the class of Redzel. I honestly believe ‘Brave Smash’ can win for the reason you pointed out above. Like your selections up the top also and might be worth following ‘Lite’N In My Veins’ in the Golden Mile at Bendigo. Horse is in great form and I’ve seen as much as $8.50 fixed.

@Macca Looks like two “Best Bets” today. Around $8 for the multi. Not bad for two legs.

A Day at the Races
It usually means bred overseas. Going back about 10-20 years Australia/NZ bred top stayers but the lack of decent staying races in conjunction with the amount of time it took from foal to ready for racing was too long. People want quick returns, hence owners investing in two year olds because they can race when they are two years of age. Some of the top trainer/owners would invest in overseas stayers and bring them to race here as ready made gallopers, i.e Waterhouse with Fiorente. Thats my understing anyway fellas. Edit: Overseas trainers were bringing quality stayers to race here in the Melbourne Cup especially in the last 5-10 years as Macca stated above. Aussie trainers took a backstep and it was almost a case of, if you can’t beat them, join them.

Dan Zephyr is running in the last at Caulfield today. I had no idea until I went through the fields again. Can’t see him winning or even placing to be honest. Change of trainer in the last few months but I see they stuck with their favourite jockey. Good luck to the old boy!

A Day at the Races
Best Bet: Rosehill R9 No.5 Osborne Bulls. Currently a $3 chance with TAB. Finished off really well last start after being luckless for most part of the straight and should be too good for this lot. Edit: Ken’s Dream is terrific value at $6 in Race 8 at Caulfield. If they are running on, it could be worth a few bucks.

A Day at the Races
Shame about Santos, just like Ace High he was stuck 3 wide the trip. You need to be exceptional to win under those circumstances in the wet. I almost got the first 4, the only piece missing was the winner. Well done to the winner!!
