Managers are simply trying to get a bigger salary for their clients so of course they are going to say there is interest from a lot of clubs.

This has probably been covered but can Clark be a Delisted Free Agent if a trade cannot be found (assuming Melbourne will delist him as has been agreed)? If so any bargaining power Melbourne has is out the window.

The problem with asking managers at this time of year is that they don't always know if players will be traded, it's up to the clubs to trade the players. I remember hearing Bernie Vince's manager deny he would be traded then a week later he was at Melbourne. Either the manager was lying or he just didn't know it would happen.
