  1. Yeah!!...Chris Dawes is coming back from knee surgey to finally clear up the problem he had and he is over the rest of his niggles.....I know let's rush him back, that's a good idea!!!!...as if we haven't stuffed up enough in the past......... Nicho hitting targets.....as I say in my training reports, his lack of skill is greatly over exaggerated, some posters on here have a real need for somebody to bag...bit sad really Nice report and confirming what the Gosch's paddock watchers are seeing I was dubious about picking up Cross but after watching him half a dozen times and reading the latest I stand corrected
  2. Sorry been busy with life (one of the many who has been told, "you have done a great job, but you won't have it in the New year") Anyway back on topic, the player who made the adults comment knows full well I am on Twitter and post on Demonland, so perhaps it was deliberate knowing I would post it, as WJ said the approach last year was needed but ultimately it didn't work Everybody knows it's preseason and they all tend to look the same, but it is the stuff away from the open sessions that we don't see that makes the difference, we won't see the results of that until the NAB Cup and the first few games. One observation I will make is we seem to be more of a team this year I appreciate the comments about me talking to players, I think they trust me, knowing I don't bag, I do get told quite a few things, but I think they know I keep a lot to myself
  3. Barry is training exclusively with the midfield, so I don't think it will be a small forward opportunity, (Salem was with the forwards today), it is hard to judge about Barry's physique or changes to these days, we now have some big bodies on board, he does look 'more powerful', if that makes sense, in his work. On the training , as you know the players speak to me, and no names, one told me this year is 10 times better because the emphasis is the running in the game, not just running, it has a purpose, and another one said it was good to be treated as adults this year, so you can take that whatever way you want.
  4. Gee the reporter on Big Footy must type as he goes, I do it from memory Strauss to answer the question is training well, the ripped jumper mentioned, it was nearly in half, so Clark certainly left his mark I was stood with Redleg chatting so his report is pretty spot on, some good observations
  5. Off air now, will try to answer anything else tonight or tomorrow
  6. Just a word on Hogan and Pederson, Pedo got the best of Hogan in one drill and then Jesse made sure he nailed him in the next one ... great to watch ... and finally Dunn ended up with a blood nose, it is usually him inflicting the damage on team mates.
  7. Barry looks super fit and switched on, a smooth move in everything he does, he is bigger across the shoulders and chest
  8. The good thing at the moment is nobody is standing out, we have consistent effort across the board, so yes Tyson and Tapscott trained with main group
  9. I was there Garlo tackled Mitch and just pinged the ankle a bit, as I said he is ultra cautious himself and immediately pulled out of the drill and got the physios out to check everything, spent about 5 minutes testing ... spoke to him when he had finished, got a smile and everything is cool. Kent still has an issue with patella, looked a bit down so didn't pester him, seemed to be able to kick, so maybe not far away. Same with Riley, got a thumbs up. Dawes is back running, rehab group was him, Blease, Byrnes and JKH, asked Dawes when he had finished paraphrase "everything is ticking along nicely". No shows today Fitzy, Jamar and Grimes. Asked Garlo whether he was early nomination for most hated player on Melbourne list, roared with laughter, said he could hear the collective gasp. Re C & B post, asked quite a few players, they said more footy than running, especially transition plays, they are 'enjoying it more' remember we only see open sessions Spoke to Jesse Hogan, still wished the season started this weekend, now tips the scales at 101kg, they want him up at 103 for season start, again just a really nice laidback guy to talk to, but a great ad for white line fever. Him and Cross were last off by about 5 minutes, complimented Cross on his work ethic, said it means a couple more kicks in a game, he took the opportunity, in front of Jesse to stress the need for all players to buy in, again I was impressed, already changed my mind about him. Spoke to Nev Jetta, he confirmed, if a player has the slightest niggle they are in the rehab group, he was in it last week because he got a bit of quad tightness, also every player has an individual progam, he was on a light one this week. McKenzie and Tapscott in full training. And a bit bout Roos, spoke to Maia Westrupp, they are looking at playing him forward this year, told him he seemed to be running some good patterns in the drills for someone so new to the game, said, "Roosy and Millsy are working with me on them", has to work on his endurance and his kicking, he wasn't too bad today ... he did whole session and was then off round the Tan, Nathan Jones offered to do it with him (which was cool), but Brad Mills went. Dom Tyson did most of the main group session. Any questions feel free.
  10. I actually had to read his posts, good old BH wearing his jocks on the outside again If anybody goes to training, try listening to the banter......this is a storm in a jockstrap.......
  11. Also and the photograph reminded me, Clisby seems to be playing as part of the midfield group at the trainings I have watched, whether it is just making up the numbers, or that is the plan...
  12. ..that's gold, but probably wasted on most on here....as for Trengove, to stay on topic, he is looking in top shape, let's wait and see....
  13. Was tempted until I saw the weather, not the most hospitable place when it is wet
  14. ooopppss so Roger did, must read all of it, instead of just skipping to interesting bit....it is Jack Attack who is the eccentric one.........don't read BF, even worse than here on a bad day
  15. What a brilliant report from Roger, gonna make sure he goes to every training.. eccentric, I thought normal but then it's me,.but it's Gandalf I am aiming for, actually been told look like Leon Russell these days for all the music fans with taste On Dawes spoke to him a couple of weeks ago, there is no rush, trying to get him cherry ripe for after Christmas, today him and Aiden Riley were heading off to use that strange treadmill that we saw Mitch Clark on last year, doesn't put full weight on.
  16. No that's ok couple of posters wanted a report on them, not the sort of report they wanted They were in the main group, my point, they didn't stand out
  17. Yes, they just did a solid training session, didn't stand out in my eyes, although must say Toumpas is looking super fit
  18. I'll put this bit to show how Roos seems to value players 'character' as well. The rookies and JKH and Hunt were sent to do some running on the oval next door, unsupervised, Georgiou, as the oldest took charge, impressed At the end I got the photos of the rookies individually, but JKH gathered them all up indluding him and Salem and I got a group shot as well,, before Georgiou made sure everyone knew what was next and they headed off
  19. I only mentioned the Clark issue to show that everybody is making sure everything is done correctly, inclluding Mitch, sorry if it induced a bit of panic
  20. They are not training kick ins, think that will come later, seems to be all about running and running to get on the end of kicks and give options, they don't do them in the groups either defenders etc, you can end up with Chip kicking for goal, which he did with an outrageous around the corner at one stage
  21. Here we go first try, old memory Kent, Riley and Dawes were out early doing ball work and then disappeared back into AAMI "rehab' group, Jamar (sorry) McKenzie, Spencer, Tapsoctt (sorry), Tyson, Garland, Jetta, Blease , Gawn and Salem, none seemed restricted whatsoever running, twisting, turning, kicking, think it is what I said before, one little niggle and you are in the rehab group Strauss back in full traiining apart from not being allowed to tackle or be tackled, same with Tommy Mc Observations - thought Nathan Jones was a training machine, Daniel Cross puts even him to shame, already changed my opinion about signing him, can see why now, if he plays as well as he is training....and for all the Nicho lovers out there, a tale of two half volley kicks Cross picked it up beautifully without breaking stride, Nicho got hit in the face Vince - his kicking is a thing of beauty Barry - is improving every time I see him, and agree about JK Harris Hogan's shape has already changed in the month or so they've been back, starting to look ripped Clark came off at one stage and they looked at his foot, I held my breath, not sure what the prob was but he went back and continued Of the new rookies, can see why we picked King, got a really good body shape to build on, smooth mover as well for his zise, in one early drill the had the defenders against each other Georgiou showed his intent by banging into Pederson, Harmes is another big body........I think with Roos "size does matter" Took photos of the rookies will be on my twitter tonight, forgot the lead to the camera ....damn Standouts for me today, both Jones'., Watts, Howe Of the drills apart from the grappling, tackling and wrestling which seems to be have beocome the norm, a lot of the drills were coming out of defence, but in waves and then going back the other way, some of the speed of movement was very impressive As normal any questions feel free
  22. ....going to be an interesting morning at training.....
  23. what she is saying is........."first Berwick, then Blacktown........gee New York will be a piece of cake"
  24. Sorry Machsy do about nothing..............As I said to the other one or two comedians who have posted, unless you are stood next to me, you have no idea what I do or don't say to players, so I would ask you keep your instructions to yourself I enjoy talking to the players, I don't represent myself as anything except a supporter, nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about It is some posters on here who seem to have the problem with their self esteem The players know how some supporters feel about them, without me telling them, I know because they've told me And I will continue to do what I like, as you expect to, as I said if what I write annoys you, don't read it, I am about to add you to my list of skip overs
  25. ......oh right so there is no more war or conflict because we have learnt it is a waste of time.... ......and there is no more famine coz we learnt that we need to feed the world..... ...and etc etc.............................never mind footy ...please give me a break.....
