Been offline Chin is Lynden Dunn From what i could see at training yesterday, the line up forward looked like Gawn, with Dawes and Pedersen either side, then Watts, then Bail and Salem -

So you watched his game at Visy on Saturday, he really was like a pig in mud, watched him decide that to get past two defenders the easiest way was just to barge straight between them, hopefully could be another piece of inspired recruiting alongside Tyson and JKH Training is interesting for the calls, we have Pig, Chin, Chunk, Sal, Toump, Killa, Jets, Rush and Pedo to name a few -

I could get nothing about Frawley from anybody when I asked, so who knows One thing that might cheer up some, although it could just be for training or for Richmond's benefit, when they were doing the length of the field drills, there was a bearded giant coming out of the goal square alongside Dawes and Pedersen One other thing I found interesting, in this drill, Roos had them kicking with the strong wind and the receivers looking into the sun, some really good adjustments to kicking were made during the drill -

Couple of more scientific bits The GPS is now used at every training session At the end of each session each player has to rate the session, ie easy, average, hard, if the majority are different from the coaches view, it is investigated why Each morning the players have to fill in a wellness questionaire, how did they sleep, are they feeling stressed, are they feeling fatigued, unwell or injured Most of the emphasis at the moment is on DI's (defensive indicators) and pressure acts, surprise surprise Just realised Shannon Byrnes wasn't there either -

OK, I am back. Frawley a no show, others missing Spencer, King, Trengove, Hogan. Terlich for all the non believers, sorry, fully recovered, did the full session. It seems that the Pig Dog is about to be unleashed, the comedians thought it would be a good idea to give me six different answers when I asked what the applause was about today (happened today as well). Alex Georgiou more or less confirmed, all I got from Pig Dog himself was a smile and a "maybe" wave of the hand, if the banter going on during training was an indication, I would say "probably". Christian Salem is concerned about being sub again, that would mean back to Casey to get match fitness, he is also concerned about Arsenal losing to Hull City in the FA Cup Final this weekend. Jack Fitzpatrick most [censored] off he did his ankle on the weekend, was looking forward to playing as first ruck for whole game, as was feeling really good in 1st quarter, as FD now consider him Ruck/Forward rather than Forward/Ruck. Garland is fine, completed whole session. DeeZee, watch Nathan Jones' presser for your answer, Jack Grimes told me exactly that same thing. Spoke to Nicho, Blease, Strauss and Toumpas as requested, main theme from all of them was consistency (and Nathan Jones presser), they have to produce to a high standard for four or five weeks to be considered if an opportunity opens up. Toumpas just has to reproduce what he did last weekend each week. Nicho has to tidy up his disposal (surprise). Blease has now set a benchmark for himself with his 30 possies, enjoying playing at the back, lets him read the footy better, when to use his obvious attributes. Strauss: asked him where he was at, has been moved up forward to "freshen him up", not in very good form at the moment, actually enjoying playing forward, again just wants a consistent run, has forgotten all that has happened in the past and moved on, did mention likes the new way of doing things where you have to earn the spot in AFL side quote "not one good game at Casey, into AFL, bad game, back out" wants to settle in forward, get some form and try and force his way in. Forget McDonald or Garland, Nev Jetta is playing on Jack Riewoldt, it must be right, Jade Rawlings made a point of telling me. Also got some info on Tim Smith from Brad Miller. I asked what the knock on him not getting drafted was, again that word consistency, when he is good, as Brad says from last week's 5 goals, he is really good, but then goes missing for 2 or 3 weeks. Any questions feel free. -

I have already spoken to Tappy about this, he knows that if he can't get fit and stay fit and get into the AFL Team his chances of being retained are diminished (to put it politely) -

I would if I could, wouldn't be a bad move, Roos impossible to get near, he appears and then disappears, think he has a tunnel -

Nah chap I am being made redundant in a couple of months, have way too much leave and 'being encouraged' to take it, my productivity seems to have become variable as well, not sure why? haha........so I take the morning off and do something important, will try and answer the questions put -
Decided work does not interest me this morning, any questions you would like me to try and get answers to, you have half an hour, (no stupidity please, it's tiresome)
-
At every training session I have seen, all the players wear GPS, a lot of them check out the numbers at the end from the guys monitoring on the sideline and Roos has checked when guys have been coming back from injury, so as well as stats there is interest in how hard players are working at training, Roos can obviously judge for himself but he has data to back it up
-
So if it is the team that is second rate, then there is a need to take potshots as a whole rather than individualising, which is what Nasher was saying to you, or not bother at all which would be even better

No sorry wrong reference point, Fellini's Satyricon, which is based on the work by Petronious...... Petronius's original text survives only in fragments. While recuperating from a debilitating illness in 1967, Fellini reread Petronius and was fascinated by the missing parts, the large gaps between one episode and the next.[19] The text's fragmentary nature encouraged him to go beyond the traditional approach of recreating the past in film: the key to a visionary cinematic adaptation lay in narrative techniques of the dream state that exploited the dream's imminent qualities of mystery, enigma, immorality, outlandishness, and contradiction.[19] In Comments on Film, Fellini explained that his goal in adapting Petronius's classic was "to eliminate the borderline between dream and imagination: to invent everything and then to objectify the fantasy; to get some distance from it in order to explore it as something all of a piece and unknowable."[2 Demonland on a good day

On a note by the way, I did ask Burgo whether we could get a AFL review like the VFL review, he did say the players get similar, but it would be a 'courageous' move to publish, leave it to Roos in his pressers
-
Yes, Nev took whoever the small forward was, swapping with Terlich until he went off, Cross dropped back then to share the load, but then again they are facts not conjecture and we can't have them clouding opinion
-
Ah, so now you have moved the goalposts, it doesn't buy him a few weeks, which bit of the Roos philosophy don't you get, you are in the side as long as you play the role you are given, my understanding is that Nev did that at the weekend, if he is not in the side against Richmond it will mean the FD didn't think so, not supporters....if he is dropped I'll go to training and get an explanation as to why

In a nutshell, Nutbean, apart from there were too many paths to choose from in the last few years, and a lot of obstacles blocking the way, unfortunately players stagnated or 'got lost'

The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014
Satyriconhome replied to alpha33's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought we all just suffered from idolatry As for the injuries, same as everything else, we probably made mistakes in the past, of course there is no such thing as a player hiding an injury to keep their place is there? Now it is much more stringent, Aiden Riley told me towards the end of his rehab and his leg was fine, he even avoided looking at it in case the medical staff thought he had a problem and dragged him out of the training Some of the queries over injuries baffle me, these are guys who run anywhere between 5 and 15km a game and crash into 85 -100Kg, something gives occasionally -
Gonz, nice to hear from you, bit of slow read today, we moved on from that chap, try staying on topic, we are discussing how valuable role players are in the team at present
-
According to that logic he should be dropped this week then, we shall wait and see
-
Nev is another one who has had a blighted 5 years, injury, suspension, mulitiple coaches, in and out of the team, different roles and positions, Roos loves identifying a player who he thinks can play a particular role, putting them in it and watching them blossom, (I am astonished as everybody at Pedersen's rise), Nev is a few weeks behind, but is actually loving what he is being given by the coaching staff, is fit and confident This is why he was drafted in the first place http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F42TRYTJ0pc
-
I think you will find Tommy Mc has aspirations for the Leadership group at Melbourne, that should keep him in place
-
Chap, I have already covered this, Nev is playing a specific role at the moment with specific instructions to keep it simple, Roos wants the defensive bit ingrained, ie it just happens, then when he has 22 all on the same page we will start to look at the offense, if you listen to him on any media, you will hear him say this....think a lot of it is to do with if Nev goes on a run, we have a midfielder going in behind him so if we unfortunately turn it over the opposition don't score from it and we can get it back..we still don't do this enough at the moment as the midfielders are getting used to working both ways
-
I offered him a pen after the Adelaide win...which he took with good humour I actually like the Free Agency, if he goes I don't think it will be about the money, it will mean he can't see any improvement on the horizon, which doesn't necessarily mean there isn't but maybe just not quick enough, it opens the door to other possibilities for us as well, with Rivers going it opened the door for Tommy Mc earlier than it should have been, yes he still causes the odd heart attack but when he is in his prime at 24-25 we will have a battle hardened key defender with 100+ games under his belt

Northern Blues v Casey Scorpions

So review reveals he wasn't working hard enough, so that was the reason he wasn't near the ball
