  1. On triple m today Dean Bailey echoed these sentiments, and the fact we have frawley, warnock and rivers back there. He seems to like the look of him up forward too.
  2. Yep scully for captain. Judd got to be captain without playing a game for carlton. Why not scully? He's already our best midfielder.
  3. Im thinking the same. Other teams that were struggling and rebuilding have at least got a few wins here and there and play with some passion. The distance between us and west coast/richmond is growing. People pencil in port adelaide as a game we will win???? They will smash us.
  4. Im easy to try anything different than what we are doing now.
  5. Yeah look any one can turn a list over. If hes not winning next year he shouldnt be offered an extension. If we end up on 1 or 2 wins this year isnt that going backwards?
  6. I dont think this is a dumb post. How can you dismiss this discussion? I think we can all say we have seen nothing in Bailey so far that says he's a great coach. I think we are all just hoping things will magically turn around in 2010. With this rate of progression you can honestly see us battling for the spoon again next year. How is that progress? The game style we are playing sucks, lets be often. Too many players behind the ball, and when it does go forward all that does is generate a 5 on 2 situation in our forward line making it almost impossible to score. Im not convinced on bailey. Why should we be?
  7. He was all smiles talking about the legends game, when gary asked sam for his tip on the dees vs lions he laughed as if there was any other tip but brisbane. Cuddles was fuming. Good to see some genuine hurt.
  8. Best available. A deeply skilled and talented midfield will make bate look like dunstall.
  9. Did you see how angry connoly was on the Footy show when the dees were the Butt of all jokes?
  10. Happy to read this. Bailey needs to feel some pressure. Rebuilding or not our win loss ratio is completely unacceptable. The reason we are so mediocre is because most of us accept this because of a carrot waved in our faces in the form of draft picks. Let's not beat around the bush, the last 3 years are fitzroy like.
  11. Everyone agrees that the midfield of mclean, moloney and Jones is not going to work. I think one of them should be traded. I think its jones in my book. They are all so similar tho he prob has the worst skills of the three and is younger so may draw a higher trade. Im sure a lot of teams would love to have him as a second tier midfielder. If we could get a 2nd rounder for him then we could use the two top picks on two elite midfielders and have another 2nd rounder to get another KP player.
  12. Who else thinks we wont win another game this year? I think scully is a shoe in. North have a new coach, starting to get their senior players back in. Freo are playing good footy. West coast should have beaten richmond here, i was at the game but like us couldnt get the ball inside 50 effectively.
  13. Yep clarko showed a heap more improvement in the second year with finals in the 3rd. And they cut their list a lot deeper than us. It was everything must go when clarko got in. I cant remember a coach like bailey who has had such a bad record and kept his job. Our rate of development is snail rate.
  14. From the Age: IT WAS a pitiful fortnight for Melbourne. One view had it saving its worst performances for the year for the two games played before the biggest audiences. The other view was that the two matches simply exposed more people to how poor Melbourne has been all year. The consensus largely has been that struggling, developing Melbourne has been honest and competitive but went backwards sharply in the past two games. Which is probably fair. "I think most people in the football world felt they were having honourable losses but the last two weeks they have gone backwards in the way they have played," Essendon captain Matthew Lloyd told ABC radio on Saturday after playing the Demons on Friday night. But Lloyd also seemed to hint that the Demons were playing without a clearly discernible game plan. "I felt whatever their game style is … the one move I did notice is they often throw Cameron Bruce, Aaron Davey behind the ball," Lloyd said. "I think they have to play in the midfield where they can hurt the scoreboard and be more damaging (along with) Brad Green (and) those type of players and the young players. "At Essendon everyone knows what the game plan is (but at) Melbourne?" His fellow commentator, former St Kilda player Austinn Jones, was more direct. "The consistency in the game plan is what makes a side successful long term," he said. "It is the players getting used to it and almost becoming second nature. "That is what Melbourne need to do — they need to get their game plan in place, stick to it 100 per cent, be confident in it, they need to sell it every single week to their players and eventually Melbourne supporters will know exactly what Melbourne are trying to do. "But it has got to be consistent, they have got to absolutely stick to it 100 per cent. You wouldn't change your style week to week and that to me appears what Melbourne is doing at this stage," said Jones, who is coaching at lower levels but harbours a desire to join AFL coaching ranks. The question is whether Melbourne was actually playing to this game plan in recent weeks, or if, because of the shocking skill level displayed, it is fair to even presume the Demons know what their game plan is. Coach Dean Bailey and the Demons should be condemned for the insipid third quarter on Friday night when players were dispatched behind the ball to no avail. If this was an instruction, then it was a poor one. If it wasn't, then why were they there and who was leading on the field?
  15. Had to be the most over officiated game i have seen. Even my essendon supporter mates were baffled and acknowledged it was ruining the game. One of those bizzare cases was against McVeigh for too high while he was getting tackled. This has to be a first.
  16. I think we will only win one more game this season. Does that mean we have gone backwards? Perhaps not, we are just well behind how quick other teams develop. I think 6 would be the absolute tops we will win next year. I see another clean out this season of older players which just means more short term pain.
  17. We just love kicking and handballing to stationary targets.
  18. Its a common misconception that sheehan is a dees supporter. I know his nephew. Hes actually a neutral observer funnilly enough, with a soft spot for the doggies.
  19. Happy to see king go. He "Accidently" booted our only ruckmen of the match White in the finals years back and took him out of the game.
  20. He's def got the X-factor. Did some amazing things in the VFL on the weekend. The commentators were drooling. So was i haha. We def need some spark up forward. Someone that can make things happen.
  21. Call me crazy but i think we will beat the bombers next round. The matches are always close betweeen us the last few years and i hope melbourne will be keen to make amends for the queens birthday disaster.
  22. My friend is wrapt. She has got a bit of a crush on stef martin so she gets to see him a bit more haha.
