  1. I assume because of their interrupted pre-season they are now in the middle of a mini-preseason now, resting them between scratch matches etc like they do with most players during NAB cup. But yeah it would be great if the club would actually tell us what was going on so we dont have to cook up these reasons in our heads.
  2. Well he sure motivated the players to give a 4 quarter effort. Personally im still unhappy with our forward 50 set up. We play too high up. We always seem to be leading backwards. It was the players today. They were disciplined. Pressure on the ball carrier. Really doesnt matter how good your game plan is, if you apply constant pressure like we did today the gap between bottom side and top side erases. Collingwood looked shocking today purely from our pressure. They're struture became non-existent in the last quarter. Its what the hawks did to us and obviously we have learnt a bit from that game.
  3. Out Bate, Jones. In sylvia and whoevers fit. I wouldnt drop Bennell. Yeah he shirked it but the good far outweighs the bad. Bate is softer than him with a a mans body.
  4. You can't blame anyone for this loss. It could have gone either way and it just wasnt us today.
  5. Defending time for Bailey is definitely over. Gary Lyon was alarmed at the lack of spirit from the side as all of us supporters. Dean is well and truly under the pump from here on in. Do the players support their coach? They dont exactly defend him in the media? Footy experts seem to be on the same page as supporters canning Baileys set up's as well. Its really becoming clear he is doing a shocking job. As if the win-loss ratio wasn't showing that anyways. I will be happy to see him go really. He has never taken responisbility for how bad we have been under him. Constant "not competitive enough", "skills let us down". Isnt it your job to get the skills up? The players he already had at his disposal before drafting have not improved their skills at all since he came on board. What hope have we got for the kids?
  6. Has Bailey got the worst coaching record of all time? Would be interesting to see where he fits on the all time list. If there is a plan, a structure he obviously isnt getting through to this team. The last 3 years have been the worst football i have ever seen the club play and there has been absolutely no improvement. At the moment I'm bracing for the game where we dont actually kick a goal. How could the players be happy getting belted week in week out? I hate to be one of those "SACK BAILEY" type people but if i had shown this kind of performance at my workplace i would have been shown the door long ago. We were completely outcoached amongst all the other issues yesterday. Hawthorn defence were sitting ten metres in front of our forward line just waiting for Miller and Bate to crash into each other leading to the same space and then take the ball into there f50 with zero pressure from our forwards. If Bailey is such an "astute thinker" of the game what is he thinking in the coaches box game day? Preparing excuses for the press conference? Its his job to put a structure in place, and his structure is even poorer than our skill level. Seriously what has this team being doing all summer? Is that the best they could come up with in 6 months?
  7. Why would any team in the world other than Melbourne want Miller? God we should have traded him when Sydney wanted. Im so over being continually frustrated on a weekly basis by Miller.
  8. Melbourne witches hats.
  9. If he walks past me on the boundary line im going to ask him if it was too long of a drive for him to get to the MCG.
  10. I reckon a preseason win would have helped. Now we have no chance of reaching that number by Rnd 1. Lets just hope our overall tally is an improvement on last year.
  11. We've well and truly seen what Newton is and isn't capable of. Lets hope Hughes can put in a few good performances to earn an elevation on the list. Seems to have more upside than Newton. Well anyone does really.
  12. Much better today. Looked like they actually wanted to win. Hard at the contests. Have to say i was very disappointed in our defence. Seemed like everytime it got into their 50 there was a scoring shot. They need to tighten up. Warnock had a shocker. Good to see Jurrah have a whole game on Fletcher, good learning experience for him to play on the best. Jack Grimes was everywhere today. We are going to be happy with this kid for a long time. We are a much better side with Jamar playing. One passage of play that made me smile was a pinpoint kick into the 50 from trengove to hit Jurrah on the chest. I think we will be seeing that a lot in the next 10 years. Bartram is a real tryer but his skills just havent improved at all. He is only filling the gap at the moment im afraid. Really impressed with Sylvia today. Went off sore for prob 15 minutes and when he came back on he really led from the front to help us get back into the game. Overall i think the score line flattered the bombers. They were nearly full strength, we have a lot of great players to come back in.
  13. Rumour has it he had a finger injury at training, possibly a fracture which would explain the dropped marks. He also started off last year pretty slowly, at times in the VFL didnt look close to debuting for the dees but found form quickly. I wouldnt worry.
  14. Spot on.
  15. I understand it was only a NAB cup game, and we are hardly ever successful at that ground. My beef is that with the way our team was set up, it just seems we were never actually going to have a chance at winning. Who's fault is that? That is the coaches fault my friend. Never having any players in our F50 seems to me like a sure fire way to lose a game of footy.
  16. Judging on that performance its safe to say that we are still a few years away from even coming close to top 8, and whether or not Bailey will be involved is 50/50.
  17. I havent really seen anything amazing from Martin in any position that convinces me he will be a 10 year player for us.
  18. Yep spot on. A lot of people jumped on Crawf for that article but he's on the money. I think we all overinflated our hopes of what another summer could do for us. Obviously not that much improvement on last year.
  19. We go forward as if we are playing rugby. Always looking backwards.
  20. Grimes is looking great in the midfield. Looking for positives.
  21. Macdonald has been good.
  22. Grimes!
  23. For gods sakes dees. I lose count how many times we fall asleep with 10 seconds left on the clock and allow a siren goal like that.
  24. Miller time! Hahaha.
