It's one or the other. I agree.

So, where to from here with pick 2?
Pipefitter replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Chris Judd was traded for pick 3. Media speculating that we would use it one players like luke Parker or Heath shaw have NFI. -
He will come cheap, and dramatically improve our contested ball. Yes for me.

Unless we get a superstar midfielder like Dangerfield, Pendlebury etc pick 2 should be off the table. I'm sure the club are smart enough to know this is the benchmark for what you should expect in return. They are just throwing that out there in the hope a club is going for a radical list change. This pick will be used on the 2nd best kid in the draft. I'll be happy with that. -
To me Heater doesn't have a "culture" problem. He has a "Buckley" problem. As Does Dale Thomas, Chris Dawes, Wellingham. Players never used to actively try to leave collingwood. Im quite happy to have Heater at our club. We don't have a decent running half back. This guy is one of the best in the business in this position.

2013 Player Review - # 10 Shannon Byrnes
Pipefitter replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Really rated him at Geelong. I don't anymore. Games gone past this fella unfortunately. -
Who will be worse next year? Saints or us?
Pipefitter replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought we would have overtaken them this year. In fact i made a very silly bet with my st. kilda loving inlaws last preseason that we would this year. Not going to make any rash comments on st kilda again next year haha. -
Thanks for the memories Gillies!

Don't worry, neeld is gone. This won't happen.
-
I was at the casino last night. Had a few chats to a few players. Trengove is a champ! Played the big wheel with Aaron davey. It's a good night out to be at the casino if you're a dees fan.
-
It will be a shame to lose him IMO. I think he's prob done as a coach, but seems to be a great footy person in general.
-
Mike Sheehan has gotten my convinced. His mail is always better than anyone else's.
-
Wow. I still won't believe it till it happens. Im not used to good things happening at the dees.
-
Let him see out his 3rd year. Unlike Neeld, he actually has runs on the board at other clubs.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Pipefitter replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
The denial of essendon supporters is unbelievable. So misguided, hero worship in overdrive. James Hird costs the club 2 million dollars, a spot in the finals, and draft picks for 2 years, and instead of showing him the door, they extend his contract! -
With the current state of our list, Dunn is best 22. He will remain best 22 until we get our draft/trade business in order

Jack Watts - More Discussion (for those who haven't had enough)
Pipefitter replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
This will close the chapter on the most disastrous drafting period on record. We drafted someone we thought would drag us out of this mess. We got someone who is content being the 18th best player on the list. -
Who is truly Bad ? Plus what hope has Craig ?
Pipefitter replied to Demon Stalwart's topic in Melbourne Demons
Trengove is running around like his 40 years old out there at the moment. Looking at Scully and Whitfield yesterday, thats how top 2 picks perform. We get 14 possessions out of our elite midfielder week in week out. Injured? Have we ruined him? Its a real worry. Playing with the world on his shoulders. But is taking the captaincy off him going to make things worse? -
The club doesn't hate losing. Its used to it. Thats the problem now. Even losing to GWS doesn't raise any eyebrows anymore. It was expected.
-
If i were a football player at this club, when Scully left i would have drawn a line in the sand, like geelong did with hawthorn after 2008 and say while we are still here playing we will NOT lose to this team under any circumstance. Less than 2 years later Scullys decision is already justified. This club just has no ticker at all. We got walked all over by a team that is so below where we are. Its just disgraceful really.

Port v GWS round 19 2012 and the Port rebuild
Pipefitter replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah i said in hindsight didn't I? I would have picked them 2 at the time as well. -
Thoughts on possible coaching succession plan
Pipefitter replied to S.R.J's topic in Melbourne Demons
I like it as long as its not in a set time frame like the malthouse/buckley plan was. In Sydney it was always known Longmire was to take over, but it was never set in stone when. Much better like that. The collingwood succession plan was a disaster. -
Port v GWS round 19 2012 and the Port rebuild
Pipefitter replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
In hindsight Scully and Trengove weren't the best 2 of their draft, but i remember the massive impact they had coming into the side together. If we can find another 2 young midfielders who are AFL ready who knows what can happen. -
I think he's got one more crack at getting it right or he'll retire. It's Matthew Egan all over again. Feel so sorry for the bloke. He's a champ!
