  1. Misson: beer after the game, Mark? Need: can't, I have centrelink appointment.
  2. It was contracted when Daniher was dumped for No good reason. It was worsened when Dean Bailey pushed out players like Jeff White, Russell Robertson and James McDonald 1-2 years before their times were up and caused a bunch of youngsters to be taught the ropes by a couple of party boys in Moloney and Sylvia. No wonder we have 2 boys as captains, no wonder we have no leadership on the field, no wonder none of the kids out there know where to run or kick the ball. There was no senior leadership when they were developing as AFL players.
  3. Positive things from today's game: Jack Viney, I ate a pie. Negative things from today's game: Everything else, I didn't get sauce
  4. I don't think people are getting the point here. It's not having a dig at Jimmy T, it's questioning the people who chose him over Wines. Wines has the work ethic, physical strength and mongrel aggression that is missing from the midfield. As mentioned above, Toumpas will be a great player, but is he the type if player melbourne need to lift right now? No. Is Wines? Yes.
  5. Not in the listening area. What is he saying?
  6. Hows this for perspective? We pay good money that we work hard to earn to be a part of the club. The players are payed good money to work hard on the field to be part of the club. Today, the players (with the exception of Viney and Clark) did not work for their pay. I would have thought that with 14 players turned over in the offseason, those remaining from last year would give a little more. They didn't lift, they didn't show any passion for the red V on their chests. They left the work up to an 18 year old who, luckily, is only here because of his dad. I pay my membership for the right to say I'm part of the club, these blokes are taking the cash and having a laugh. I will tell them when I'm unhappy with their performance, just as I would be told if my job performance was not up to scratch. It is time for 90% of the playing group to pull their heads in and wake up to the fact that they are about to cost another coach his career.
  7. Should have asked him if he wanted a new job
  8. Good app. It works really well and the interface is easy to use. It's much better than Face bomb and face swap. Any Dees related apps in the pipeline? Edit: spelling
  9. My team name is very original, DeeMachine. Waiting for my turn to pick.
  10. I'm also an eternal optimist, but I agree. Losing the pokies revenue will be the death of the club, wonder who they'll merge us with.... Probably Essendon.
  11. On Bomberblitz, some have raised the possibility of the essendon fc being banned from the 2013 season altogether. Although I think it's highly unlikely, what would become of their recently recruited players and others not implicated? Could the AFL hold a mini draft of Essendon listed players to redistribute them to the other clubs?
  12. This is the app I use. It syncs the dees fixture to your phone calendar. https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/afl-footy-live-aussie-rules/id306930083?mt=8
  13. An article in the club's iPhone app is calling for cheersquad members. A link takes you to a page selling tickets for $40. Does anyone know if it's $40 a week standalone membership type or a $40 per year on top of your normal membership?
  14. My wish list: Sylvia to play to his potential every game. Finish 8th(magically)-11th At least 9 wins Mitch Clarke 20 games, 60+ goals Dawes played in position, 60+ goals Jack Viney, nab rising star No loss greater than 7 goals
  15. Ill say it again: finals 2013. Can't believe we landed Toumpas!
  16. That probably has something todo with the fact we finished 4th in 1998. (After last in 1997)
  17. Go crazy? Don't mind if I do! Premiers 2014,15&16
  18. Glad I'm not the only hopeful one. Sorry mate, you can probably tell that I'm new here. Didn't realise this type of thread was a common occurrence, trying to be a bit positive amongst the 5,008 Tanking threads. Dawes will go nuts next year. He was injured in 2012 and was played out of position. Neeld is the man to lead change, he is having to spend some time reversing Bailey's era of rubbish and next year will be the beginning of something great. I never said we'd win the premiership in 2013, just think we might have a shot to sneak into 8th.
  19. I'm in the serious belief that the Dees could have a spot in the finals next year. In the season just gone, I watched in disbelief in many games as our defenders and midfield worked hard To get the ball to our forward 50 only for it to be rebounded out again and again. This was particularly evident after Mitch got injured. In picking up Dawes, Pederson, Byrnes and Rodan I Can't see our attack falling down at half forward anymore. Especially with Viney and Wines (hopefully ) joining the midfield and our draw (GWS and GC both twice) I am very excited about 2013. Am I justified in this thinking or am I an over enthusiastic optimist?
